Rapid Response Services • Proactive services to businesses and workers under threat of layoff or closing. • Services are initiated by WARN notice (Rapid Response) or other workforce intelligence (Expeditious Response) • Goal is to help business avert layoff or to connect dislocated workers to other job opportunities quickly after layoff NYS WARN Act (Effective 2/9/09) • Requires 90 days notice of a closure of a business with 50+ employees. • Must also notify if 33% of workforce or 250 people at one location will be laid-off. • State Act provides for Civil Penalties of $500 per day of violation.
