FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Planning 2015 - Reminder
This year we are experiencing very
high levels of interest in our school
across a number of grade levels. To
assist with our planning and to
support the families on our waiting
lists, we ask that any families who
are thinking that they will not be
here next year to please let the
office know as soon as possible.
School Reports Survey Reminder
We are encouraging all families to
participate in our ‘School Reports’
survey. What would you really like
to see on your child’s report? What
would you like to change in regards
to our current report format? This
is your opportunity to help us to
redesign our reports for students
for 2015.
We would really
appreciate your feedback. You can
access the survey at:
www.surveymonkey.com/s/
S3ZMYC2
The survey has been open for the
week and we would really like some
more parent responses. We will
then collate the results and start the
work of planning next year’s student
reports.

Icy Poles
“BE FIT, BE HEALTHY, BE HAPPY!”
Each Thursday in Term 4 JSC
members will be selling icy
poles at lunchtime for 50cents.
Pleasant Street Primary School joins Tour de Cure in
the fight against cancer and learns how we can help
prevent cancer.
‘Sweets Stall’
The sweets stall was a huge, sweet, success!
The children were so thrilled to come and buy
some treats. The generosity of the parents at
Pleasant Street was amazing. We are thrilled
to announce that we have raised around $620!!!
This money will be shared between The Ballarat
Foundation and our school. We hope to purchase
some outdoor furniture for the art room in the
near future.
If you donated food we hope you received a
thank you note. We were handing them out as
people dropped food to the art room. My
apologies if you didn't receive one
personally.
Thank you from the JSC & Melissa
Tour de Cure is a cycling foundation committed to
finding a cure for cancer. Through the collaborative
fundraising efforts of their team, corporate partners and
the Australian community, Tour de Cure has raised
$14million since 2007 to help fund 166 vital cancer
research, support and prevention projects for men,
women and children.
Tour de Cure has already shared their ‘BE FIT, BE
HEALTHY, BE HAPPY!” cancer awareness message
with over 45,000 children in the past 3 years and would
like to share their message with the students, teachers
and parents of our school.
On Wednesday October the 22nd, students and parents
will have the opportunity to meet some of the Tour de
Cure team, be introduced to the character Flipman as
well as learn how we can help prevent cancer. With the
statistic that “at least 1 IN 3 cancer cases can be
prevented”* this is a valuable message and we are
proud to be involved.
