REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
PREQUALIFICATION/SHORLISTING OF FIRMS FOR THE SUPPLY,
INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF A CORE BANKING SYSTEM
ABL/CBS/TND/2014/001
1. Azania Bank Limited (ABL) (Azania) has allocated funds to be used for the acquisition of a
Core Banking System (“CBS”) and now invites suitably qualified potential vendors to submit
sealed pre-qualification submissions for the supply, installation and maintenance of a CBS.
2. The successful vendor is expected to supply, install and maintain a CBS at Azania Bank’s
Head Quarters as well as its branches located countrywide.
3. The successful vendor will also be expected to advise on and supply the relevant IT
infrastructure in form of hardware including servers and network devices, software
including operating systems (O/S), applications and databases, and other equipment that
would necessitate the effective operation of the CBS.
4. This prequalification shall enable Azania Bank to identify and shortlist vendors who are
capable and experienced enough to supply, install and maintain a CBS.
5. A prequalification document has been developed to provide potential/ interested vendors
with sufficient information to submit an application that meets the bank’s requirements. In
order to facilitate the evaluation process, vendors will be required to complete the
prequalification document and submit an application as per the criteria detailed in the
prequalification document.
6. Azania Bank will shortlist the top three (3) vendors with the highest score who will then
be considered for invitation to receive the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the supply,
installation and maintenance of a CBS.
7. Azania Bank now invites interested vendors to submit sealed applications for the provision of
the above services. Interested vendors must provide information stating that they have the
required qualifications and experience to perform the services as per the prequalification
document. These shall include the vendor’s capability statement, brochures, descriptions of
similar assignments undertaken, availability of appropriate skills among staff among others.
8. Interested vendors may obtain further information and inspect the pre-qualification
documents from the address below from 9.00am to 4.00pm (Monday to Friday). Any
inquiries or request for clarification shall be in writing or e-mail to Azania’s address below.
9. The pre-qualification documents in English language may be purchased by interested vendors
on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of USD 100. The method of payment will be cash to the Mawasiliano branch
Cashier who will issue a banking slip or payment through EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer or
RTGS (Real Time Gross Transfer) or TT (Telegraphic Transfer) to the following accounts:

All vendors who make payments through EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) or TT
(Telegraphic Transfer) must submit a swift copy or EFT form to the address below as proof
of payment. A copy of the prequalification document (hard or soft copies) shall be
availed to a vendor upon confirmation of receipt of funds. The document will be issued
from the address below. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery. Azania Bank
will only accept prequalification applications or issue prequalification documents
from bidders who have made payment.
10. Vendors may associate with other firms in the form of a joint venture or a sub consultancy to
enhance their qualifications. The prequalification application shall specify the nature of
association i.e. joint venture or sub consultancy and the name of the lead firm.
11. Prequalification submissions must be delivered to the address below (in person) on or
before Friday 24th October, 2014 at 12:00 pm. Applicants shall submit one (1) ORIGINAL
and two (2) COPIES in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Short listing for the Supply,
Installation and Maintenance of a Core Banking System for Azania Bank Limited” and
addressed to the address below.
