CONCUSSION SCREENING for Student Athletes at HGHS (ELGHS Student Athletes are also welcome to
come and have the baseline screening.) Concussions are always a possibility when participating in contact sports.
In addition to preseason physical, student athletes should establish a concussion baseline. This testing is essential for
managing an injured athlete’s safe return to competitive play. Should a head injury occur, on-file baseline tested
results can be accessed easily and read by your family doctor. Aurora Sports Medicine Institute’s concussion screening
program includes both: Axon Sports Baseline neurocognitive test and Biodex Balance System assessment. Howards
Grove High School (and Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah High School) will be participating in the baseline concussion screening
through the Licensed Athletic Trainers of Aurora Sports Medicine Institute of Sheboygan. The following sports will
be tested: Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, & Wrestling. Testing will be done on Monday, November 3rd
and Tuesday, November 4th between 3:00 and 4:30 pm. There is no scheduled time for each sport; just come
when you are able to during the times listed above. If you have already completed baseline testing for a fall sport, you
are not required to complete it again this school year. *Baseline testing will take place in the computer lab at
Howards Grove High School. ** Those who are unable to attend a time at the high school during the dates
provided, will have to have their baseline testing done at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center 2629 N. 7th St,
Sheboygan, WI 53083. To schedule a time to make up your baseline testing, please contact Leah Paul,
leah.paul@aurora.org or (920)-451-5559.ATTENTION ALL WINTER SPORTS PARTICIPANTS: Please SIGN-UP
in the office if you are plan on participating in Boys’ or Girls’ Basketball, Wrestling, Dance Team, or Boys’ Coop Swimming this winter sport season. We need this information to determine who needs to take the concussion
baseline testing from our athletic trainers. Please sign up in the office.
Starting this week, the TRAINERS will be here only Wednesday’s at Lunch. If you need to see them, please stop by
the office.
