Grace Baptist Church is sponsoring a walk/run on October 25th to raise support their mission
team travel to Costa Rica to help orphaned and neglected children. For more information, please see the
attachment.
Rec Center FALL FESTIVAL coming up October 23, 2014 from 6-8.
Blue Bell’s Community Trunk-or-Treat will be on Tuesday, October 28th! We are already
confirming several businesses, churches and civic groups to join us as we provide a safe, family fun and
FREE event for the area kids. If you have not confirmed and would like to join us as a trunk-or-treat
host, please let me know. Here are the basics:
o No fee to participate. You just provide the treats & the decorations for your vehicle.
o Decorate a little or a lot! There will be a decorating contest - $75 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place
o Store bought, individually wrapped candy only (Nothing homemade for safety concerns)
o Give out information about your business or group along with your treats. Accompanying the
1,000+ kids will be adults who live, work, worship, bank, and shop in the Sylacauga area. The
only rule we have is that you do not have any give-a-ways/contests where people have to sign-up
or ask for information from the attendees. With such a large crowd this causes too much of a
problem!
o If you want to provide any handouts, coupons or logo items to be stuffed in the pre-filled goody
bags, drop off your items to Blue Bell by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24th. Our employees will
be volunteering to stuff the treat bags on Monday and Tuesday before the event.
o All vehicles for the trunk-or-treat must be in place in Central Park by 5:30 p.m. the day of the
event. You may begin placing vehicles as early as noon on Tuesday. We want all hosts to be
ready for the kids by 6:00 p.m. We advertise starting at 6:30 p.m. but if you have ever
participated before you know the line starts forming as early as 3:00! If we can get started early,
it helps with crowd control.
o If you can’t attend as a trunk-or-treat host the night of the event, you can still participate by
donating candy, small toys or logo items. We will recognize all businesses and groups that
participate in any way to provide this to the community.
o Please call or email me with any questions you may have or if you want to sign up to participate
