The National Land Survey of Finland to be reformed as of 1 January 2015
The operations of the National Land Survey of Finland (NLS) will expand as of 1 January 2015 when the Finnish
­Geodetic Institute (FGI) and Tike’s IT services will be merged with the NLS.
The organisation of the new NLS will consist of a central administration and four operations units, which are
­Production, General Administration, Centre for ICT Services and Finnish Geospatial Research Institute (FGI).
Our customer service will continue at all our current offices. The research activities will mainly take place in ­Masala,
Kirkkonummi and the ICT services for the field of operation mainly in Vallila, Helsinki.
The names Finnish Geodetic Institute (FGI) and Tike will be taken out of use and the new names will be Finnish
­Geospatial Research Institute (FGI) at the NLS and Centre for ICT Services at the NLS.
