1870 Kaipiainen railway station and
the truss bridge of Koria were built on the
Riihimäki - St Petersburg railway.
History 1700's onwards
1743-1809 Kymi River served as
a border between Sweden and
Russia from 1743 to 1809.
1756 Anjala cruciform church
was completed.
1874 Kouvola obtained a railway station
as a result of the construction of the
St Petersburg railway. The little village with
a station started to become a junction.
1872 Kymi and Kuusankoski
Paper Mills started.
1856 The first Emmental Cheese
was made In Sippola Manor.
1887 The oldest building in the
Ingerois mill area, brick board mill,
was completed.
1902 Arboretum Mustila was founded.
1911-1914 Kasarminmäki is a garrison area
