ROYAL ADELAIDE GOLF CLUB COURSE ETIQUETTE
The Royal Adelaide Golf Club is a highly rated Championship Course. A
reasonable standard of proficiency is therefore required of all participants in
Corporate Golf Events and they should be conversant with the Rules and
Etiquette of Golf as prescribed by The Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St
Andrews.
Dress Code & Footwear
Our Club has an appropriate dress code, and we ask that all our guests
respect it. Footwear - Metal spikes are prohibited. Golf shoes must be
worn on the course at all times. Ripple soles or thongs are not permitted.
Course
Consistent with the standards of the Club, smart attire is required at all
times. Males are required to wear collared shirts (tucked in), long trousers
or tailored shorts with short club logo socks or long socks pulled up. Female
attire should be of an equivalent standard.
Denim clothing, track tops, leisure suits, shirts with messages or cartoons
are specifically not permitted.
Keeping Up
You are required to keep up with the group in front. If you can’t you must let
the following group through.
Lost Balls
Watch your partner’s ball. If a ball is lost you should play your own shot
before looking for the lost ball. If it is not immediately found call the next
group through, then search for 5 minutes.
At the Tee
The player with the honour is to hit off before marking card – others mark
cards while waiting to hit off.
At the Green
Buggies should be left on the side of the green nearest to the next tee.
Never mark your card at the side of the green.
How to avoid slow play
1. Walk quickly
2. One practice swing is enough. Do this where possible while waiting for
others to play.
3. Select your club while waiting for others to play.
Clubhouse
Participants in Corporate Golf Events may wear neat casual dress or golfing
attire, but no golf shoes. Golf shoes may be worn in the Sprig Bar.
Any player not conforming to these dress requirements may be denied
access to the Course & Clubhouse.
