Resources and Questions 2 Overview of Candidate Profile Registration • What is the candidate Profile? o The Candidate Profile is a series of online forms registering the candidate in the RESA Submission System. These forms detail the candidate’s work and education history. o The Candidate Profile also includes a form for the Tripod Survey administration for Task 5. Tip: Helpful to have your resume on hand as you complete the Candidate Profile! • How will this information be used? • This information is confidential and secure and will be used only for the purposes of assuring fairness and anonymity in the scoring process. Candidate submissions will be assigned to assessors who they are not likely to know or to have crossed paths with in their work and education history. What is the deadline to complete the candidate Profile? o o December 15, 2014. You will not be able to submit Task 1 without having first submitted your Candidate Profile. 3 Other Information about the Candidate Profile • Subject Area o If you teach in more than one subject area, you are not required to use classes in the subject area you’ve entered in the Profile for all RESA tasks. o You may submit materials from any class you feel best suits the task requirements but you must make sure that the “Teaching and Learning Context Form” correspond to the for which you are submitting evidence and completing forms. Teachscape will use this information to ensure that the assessor assigned will be matched correctly for that grade level and content area. • Save and Continue Button o The Save and Continue button will turn blue when you have entered all the required information and answered all questions. If you have done so and it is still gray, check your browser and make sure you are using Google Chrome. • Missing Schools and Institutions o If you cannot find your school in the institution drop down menus, please The RESA submission system works best with the Google Chrome Browser! contact the Help Desk for further assistance so that school can be added to the profile. o Please note that ESCs are being added to the Candidate Profiles this week so if this applies to you, please standby and attempt to complete this section next week. 4 Tripod Student Perception Survey Signup • Most candidates are required to administer the Tripod Student Perception Survey so that they can reflect on the results in their Task 5 submission o If you teach fewer than 5 students, teach pre-k or teach in an online setting, you may have a colleague observe you and complete the Alternate Observation Response Form found at the end of Task 5. è Even if you fall into this category, you must still complete the Tripod Form on the Candidate Profile in order to submit it. 5 Next steps: Task 1 and Candidate Profile Due December 15! 6 Available Resources and Your Questions Answered • • Our Help Desk is available to assist you M-F 2-10 pm EST at resa@teachscape.com and at 1-855-538-8634.
