Lateral Connections
We will be connecting your wastewater system to the new wastewater main in Waltham Road and
Wordsworth Street and we may need to work within your property to complete the connection.
The work may involve digging a one meter long trench in your property to make the connection to the main.
We will reinstate your property once the work is completed.
We will let you know before we start work on your property.
Please contact us on the numbers shown overleaf if you would like to discuss the work.

We will be removing the pedestrian island on Waltham
Road to allow for open trenching to take place in stage
two. The island will be reinstated when all work is
finished.
Waltham Road
Stage two will start when stage one is finished and will
take about one week.
Open Trenching
We will be replacing the wastewater main along the road. The work
involves digging trenches to remove damaged pipes and replacing
them with new pipes. This is called open trenching.
We will work in sections as we move along the street. When work is
complete on a section of the road, the trench will be backfilled, the site
fencing will move and trenches will be dug on the next section of road.
Reinstatement
Once the new pipe is laid the trench line will be backfilled and
compacted. The trench line will be sealed by a separate roading
crew. This crew will seal the road once large sections of work are
finished.
The seal requires warmer temperatures to set correctly and
minimal moisture in the layers below the ground.
