There was this haunted house on the outskirts of the
town which was avoided by all the town folk - the
ghost which “lived” there was feared by all. However,
an enterprising journalist decided to get the scoop of
the day by photographing the fearsome phantom.
When he entered the house, armed with only his
camera, the ghost descended upon him , clanking
chains et. Al. “I mean no harm - I just want your
photograph.” The ghost was quite happy at this
chance to make the headlines and posed for a number of ghostly shots. The happy journalist rushed
back to his dark room and began developing the photos. Unfortunately, the turned out to be black and
underexposed. So what’s the moral of the story? The
spirit was willing but the flash was weak.

Houston & District Chamber of Commerce uses social media to
invite everyone to vote
The Houston & District Chamber of Commerce today rolled out a social
media plan to encourage everyone to get out and vote in the upcoming
provincial election.
"It is important that everyone gets out and votes," states Chamber of
Commerce President Troy Reitsma.
In the last municipal election, less than 41% of eligible voters went to
the polls. States President Reitsma: "In the last election, almost 1245
eligible voters did not give themselves the chance to have a voice. That
is significant."
The chamber's messages in this campaign will focus on getting more
people out to vote. The plan invites every citizen to participate and involves all areas of social media:
1. Facebook
Every citizen is invited to change their profile picture to the chamber's
"VOTE" icon, downloadable from www.houstonchamber.ca or request from info@houstonchamber.ca.
 The icon is to be displayed from October 27-November 15. Choices
of messaging include, "Your vote DOES make a difference"; "Make
your government work for you" and "Don't be a silent taxpayer".
 Post the fact that you are going to vote and invite all your friends to
do so.
2. Twitter
 Change your profile picture to the chamber's "VOTE" icon during
October 27-November 15.
 Make #HoustonBC prominent in all your Tweets
 Tweet an invitation to vote to all your followers.
 Tweet when you have voted.
 Tweet and ask everyone else to vote too.
 Use hashtags to encourage conversation:
#IVoted
#Vote2014
#November15
#HoustonBC
3. Email
 Use the chamber's "VOTE" icon in your email signature between
October 27-November 15.
 Send emails to your contact lists to encourage them to use their
voice and vote.
4. Website
 Add the chamber's "VOTE" icon to your home page and invite everyone to get out and vote.
Link the icon to www.civicinfo.bc.ca
5. Print
The icon may also be printed from www.houstonchamber.ca to be displayed in home and shop windows, by cash registers, vehicles, etc.

True Story: Tech: “How can I help you?” Caller:
“The cup holder on my PC is broken and I am within
my warranty period. Hoe do I go about getting it
fixed?” Tech: “I’m sorry, but did you say cup holder?” Caller: “Yes, it is attached to the front of my
computer.” Tech: “Excuse me if I seem confused.
Did you get this as part of a promotion, like at a
trade show?” Caller: “It came with my computer. It
just has ‘4X’ on it.” At this point the Tech had to
mute the caller. The caller had been using the load
drawer of the CD-ROM drive as a cup holder and it
had snapped off the computer! ahajokes.com

I am looking for 7 evergreen tree trunks about 17’
long - 20” in circumference. I want the root cluster
intact. Bug killed wood is perfectly fine as long as
they are not rotten; need tree trunks that still have
the bark attached & hopefully not damaged too
much by the extraction process. Tree’s would have
to be pushed over or pulled out so that I can get the
root cluster as part of the tree trunk. Willing to pay a
nominal fee & can pickup at a location you advise.
Hoping that someone in Houston can be of
