Nominations are now called for four parent representatives to be on the Bindoon Primary School Board as part of the transition to becoming an Independent Public School. The School Board will consist of four parent representatives and three staff representatives (including the principal). Once the parent and staff representatives have been appointed, the Board will nominate two further community representatives. This means there will be nine Board members altogether. If more than four parents nominate for the school Board, elections will be conducted. In the first year, half the school Board will be nominated for one year and half for two years. This will allow for continuity. The two parent representatives who receive the most votes will be offered the two year appointment, or the two year term will be decided by consensus if a vote is not necessary. Nominations close on Friday 7 November. Parents can self-nominate, or be nominated by others. If you nominate another person please ensure you have their permission to do so. If you wish to nominate please complete the form which can be found elsewhere in this newsletter and return to the front office or email to Bindoon.PS@education.wa.edu.au. Please add a few sentences saying what you could contribute as a member of the School Board. What you say will be published in the next newsletter if a vote is required. Once the Board is established, the full Terms of Reference will be established. This is an opportunity for parents to influence the general direction of Bindoon Primary School. There will be an induction process for Board members and one hour Board meetings twice each term. If you wish to have more information please call in to see me, or telephone 9576 1097. School Council Bindoon Primary School wishes to acknowledge the contributions by the parent representatives on the Bindoon Primary School Council over the last two years. These parents are Gordon Houston (School Council Chair), Gretchen Brocklehurst, Donelle Martin and Renee Cover. The school also sends it’s sincere thanks to Councillor Sandra Clarke who has attended School Council meetings over the last two years and been very supportive of the school. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________ Signed:______________________________ Date:_____________________ Students of the Week: Term 4 Week 1 Students of the Week: Term 4 Week 2 School Community Survey A school community survey of parents, students and staff will be undertaken from Monday 3 November until Friday 21 November.
