to moderate mental health issues in the community. Libraries throughout the Southern Region
Friday, 9 am to 5 pm contain a collection of evidenced-based, self-help books that have been extensively reviewed
Room H613, Otago Polytechnic by health practitioners covered from post-natal depression to anxiety and stress management.
Brendan Smith from Father and Child Trust giving us the father’s perspective on anxiety in
Forth St, Dunedin pregnancy and how we as health professionals can improve outcomes for the family by
including the father in our management for antenatal anxiety.

Sophie Carty from Southern PHO importance and the potential impact of their new 'Pregnancy and You' pilot. This health
Keeping Mind in Mind: Supporting Healthy promotion and screening session aims to enhance early identification of the needs of pregnant
women and their baby, and ensure women are connected to good support that will endure
relationships for baby, family/whanau their pregnancy and into parenthood.
Justine Dahlenburg from Southern DHB Justine Dahlenburg is a Community Mental Health Nurse who works for the Southern DHB.
Breastfeeding Peer Counselling – How this Her specialty area of practice is working with families in the Perinatal period. It takes a
community to support the transition to parenthood. Justine will explore the adjustments along can help new mothers this journey and the role health professionals can play with an emphasis on keeping the baby
