Question #2: Additional Operating Costs If Ballot Question 1 is approved, shall board of Independent School District No. 31 (Bemidji), Minnesota be authorized to increase the School District’s general education revenue by $180 per pupil. The proposed referendum revenue authorization would be first levied in 2015 for taxes payable in 2016 and would be applicable for ten (10) years unless otherwise revoked or reduced as provided by law. • The additional operational costs to run the new elementary school is estimated at $1M per year • The Operating Levy amount of $180 per pupil will generate $1 million per year for ten years and will be used to pay for the additional operating (lighting, heating, etc.) costs of the new elementary school.
