Club Update and News
FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK
By Phil Parker
Hello Everyone:
Well the show season for this part of the country is pretty much over and
what a season it has been! Nancy and I started with our Concours in
March and then to the Jaguar Owners Club in Fullerton, Ca., the Inland
Empire Concours in Fallbrook, Ca. and the Southern Arizona Jaguar Club
Concours in Tucson. We missed San Diego and the Western States Meet in Colorado. They were
all terrific events and all brought out old as well as new exhibitors and plenty of spectators. The
interest in Jaguars with their new and sportier designs is definitely growing.
Now we move into the holiday season with Thanksgiving and Christmas with our annual party.
Next the new year with the 2nd annual Arizona Concours prior to auction week here in the valley.
Finally our AGM where we install the new officers and plan activities for the new year.
Speaking of the Christmas Party, I think this year it is going to be spectacular. Claudia & Rigo and
Nancy & I went to the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort's "Pointe In Tyme" restaurant and
finalized plans for the event. Three great dinner choices that you can order at the table. The club is
going to provide the hors d'oeuvres and we will have our own cash bar. The cost is $50.00 per
person paid in advance or $60.00 at the door night of the event. Send checks to our treasurer, Joe
Capano, 25011 S. Lakestar Dr. Sun Lakes, Az.85248. If you want to spend the night at the hotel and
not risk the possibility of getting a " DUI " there is a special rate for JCCA of $90.00,you must
make reservations with the hotel by 11/15/2014.
On November 15 we are going on a breakfast run as guests, for the first 15 cars to register, of Jaguar
North Scottsdale to a restaurant in Prescott, Az. The restaurant is opening specifically for us and we
can have either breakfast or lunch. We will meet at the Penske Racing Museum 8:00 A M, register
and receive a "goody bag" tour the museum and leave at 8:30 A M. They & manager, Bobby Perich,
want to become more involved with our club. I think this is a great step forward.
We want to do more driving tours in 2015. If anyone has any ideas please don't be bashful. Come to
a meeting or send me an e-mail and let us know. It can be a one day tour or a one or two day
overnight tour. Let's have fun with our Cat's in 2015, after all that is what they are for!
Our next meeting is Wednesday November 5th. at Chompie's Deli, 9301 E. Shea Blvd, Scottsdale,
Az. 6:00 PM. We also need an after dinner speaker for the Christmas Party. If you know of someone
who can speak, we'll pay for their dinner.
Keep those Cats on the Road,
Phil Parker, President

JCCA Sponsors Toy Drive for UMOM Charity
JCCA is sponsoring a toy drive for needy kids with UMOM, a charity organization here in
Arizona that has been helping the homeless for 50 years. Let’s work together to bring
happiness to some kids this Christmas! UMOM has asked that we donate unwrapped toys,
with a minimum value of $20. Please bring them with you on December 3rd, we’ll be
collecting them at the Christmas Party.
UMOM New Day Centers mission is to prevent and end homelessness with innovative
strategies and housing solutions that meet the unique needs of each family and individual.
Founded in 1964, UMOM is the largest homeless shelter for families in Arizona. We keep
families together, we provide a continuum of care from emergency shelter to transitional
housing and finally, permanent, affordable housing. Families at UMOM have the opportunity
to gain the skills, medical care, quality child care, and education they need to rebuild their
lives and succeed when they leave.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles to Sell 10% of Ferrari
© 2014 Vintage Motorsport magazine. Reprinted by permission.
Milan, Italy -- Like other mega-automakers today, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA)
conglomerate is focused on significantly expanding its worldwide sales. How serious are
they? Serious enough about raising capital to sell 10 percent of Ferrari, of which FCA
currently owns 90%. Incidentally, Ferrari value estimates are as high as $12 billion to $15
billion. But the plan doesn't stop there. Ferrari's new boss, Fiat Chief Executive Sergio
Marchionne (who recently replaced longstanding Ferrari chairman Luca Cordero di
Montezemolo) has reportedly floated the concept of likewise raising Ferrari's annual
production ceiling from about 7000 units to somewhere closer to 10,000 units. Despite its low
production compared to giant multinational car companies, Ferrari's influence is felt
everywhere, as FCA stock reportedly took an 18% bounce after news of the upcoming IPO
broke. With Ferrari shares expected to be formally valued in mid-year 2015, the drama can
only build from here.

automotive lots (its largest

were sold in B-J's customary
no-reserve format.
That was up 5.5% from last

from the record-setting Monterey sales; here it's

Barber Motorsport Park Proving Grounds Completed
© 2014 Vintage Motorsport magazine. Reprinted by permission.
Birmingham, AL -- A major new
addition to the Barber
Motorsports Park, the Proving
Grounds has just been completed
and is currently in operation. Its
first customer is Mercedes-Benz
USA, which is using it for an
employee "Brand Immersion
Experience."
The complex is located adjacent
to the current Barber track and
consists of a new track area and
a wet/dry skidpad. The 24-foot
wide track is primarily asphalt
and can be configured to many
different lengths, including up to
more than a mile. The new
skidpad measures 150 x 300 feet
and allows drivers to explore traction limits under
varying conditions. The new track and skidpad design
complement the overall theme of the Barber
Motorsports Park.
In welcome news for racers, the new track allows
additional events to be conducted while the existing
track is in use. Anticipated uses include product
debuts, corporate outings and events, safety
instruction, driver schools, and autocross and kart
events.

Barber Motorsports Park is home to what is
considered one of North America's finest road courses
for car and motorcycle racing -- a 2.38-mile racing
circuit with 17 turns and elevation changes of more
than 80 feet. The track annually hosts the Honda Indy
Grand Prix of Alabama, the Triumph Superbike
Classic and the Barber Vintage Festival. The on-site
Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum is the largest
motorcycle museum in the world, with more than
1,400 vintage and modern motorcycles from 17
different nations and more than 125 manufacturers.
As well, the new track environment can be used to
challenge all types of vehicles and drivers, with
multiple configurations of turns and straights,
including a banked bowl designed to evoke the

The membership is priced differently and allows
qualifying drivers to take advantage of all weekday

Membership has a $16,500 initiation fee, along with
annual dues of $3,630 (applicable Connecticut tax
included). The memberships operate on renewable
five-year terms.
"Few if any world-class, professional racing circuits
have reached out to the older performance driving
enthusiast," says Simon Kirkby, director of the Lime
Rock Drivers Club. "They're under-served, underrecognized. This new membership option addresses
these drivers directly."

For more info and photos visit: http://www.xks.com/series-i-e-type-roadster
This is an exceptional Jaguar E Type roadster. An older restoration that has been in storage for 9 years. XKs
Unlimited recently did the following major work to make it roadworthy again:
-Rebuilt carbs, flushed gas tank, rebuilt fuel pump
-Full tune up and service. Fluids changed
-Complete cooling system restoration including flushing
-NEW water pump, alloy radiator, and stainless steel header tank
-All new brake hydraulics, new wheel cylinders and new brake master cylinders
-New clutch master cylinder
-New rear wheel bearings
-All new tires and new battery
This car looks and runs like new. Body is rust-and damage-free. The original carbs have have been converted
to electric choke in place of manual type. Otherwise exactly the same performance.
A beautiful car to show or drive. Can arrange delivery to LA port or US shipping.
