The 22nd Karate Senior World Championships will take place in Bremen, Germany, from 5th to 9th of November 2014. In 2003 Bremen already organized a big international karate Championships: the European Senior Championships. The World Senior Championships are organised every two years since their creation in 1970, and the previous edition was held in Paris.
World Senior Championships are the most important events for Karate and are highly accepted by athletes and karate fans.
After a highly successful edition 2 years ago, this forthcoming edition promises to set a record in terms of participants, athletes and countries.
The entire karate family is looking forward to it.
Persons with disabilities
1st Edition of this World Championships for persons with disabilities
A great milestone for the World Karate Federation. Successful Demonstration in Paris: In 2012 a very successful demonstration competition was carried out along the World Championships of the WKF in Paris. Standing ovations for the participants, great performances and a fantastic organisation and scenery helped to convince the WKF and its members that at the same time of the next World Championship for Seniors an official World Championships for persons with Disabilities should be organised. The rules were now improved by the experience of different international tournaments for persons with disabilities, based on the IPC guidelines and the WHO international classification of Diseases.
