About our Regional Managers Skills for Jobs in Regions The Department of State Development (DSD) Skills for Jobs in Regions Regional Managers are a vital connection to regions, engaging with local industry, employers, community and government and nongovernment stakeholders. There are 9 Regional Managers working across the state to help stakeholders identify and respond to local skills and employment challenges and opportunities. Who do they work with? Regional Managers connect local people, industry and community with DSD programs, services and staff. Regional Managers are based in the regions, along with Aboriginal Engagement Coordinators, to provide local solutions which address the State’s and local priorities. They do this by providing leadership and collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders, including: • Jobs and Skills Networks and the Industry and Skills Regional Leaders Groups • grantees of the Skills for Jobs in Regions program • private sector employers, agencies and industry groups • the three tiers of government • local Skills for All registered training providers and registered adult community education providers • Job Services Australia providers and Disability Employment Services • non-government and community organisations. What are their responsibilities? Regional Managers: • provide strategic and operational leadership to the 17 Skills for Jobs Regional Networks • provide high level support to the 15 Industry Leaders Groups • lead and facilitate strategic planning and collaborative activities that strengthen regional intelligence and target DSD resources to regions. Part of this service includes industry case management for identified priority companies, major projects and priority industry sectors in a region • provide a conduit between DSD and the regions to inform regional and Government policy and planning • identify and develop best practice workforce participation models and share these within and across the regions.
