The 17 public libraries in Orange County with support from the Orange Library Association will embark on
the 2014 OrangeREADS! community read project from October through November. The focus will be on
Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand

Note from the Director
Lots of good things are coming your way this Fall! Along with the other 16 public libraries in Orange County,
this fall we’ll be participating in the OrangeREADS Unbroken project. Look to page 4 for more information on
county wide events and the specific events we’ll be hosting here.
If you haven’t already noticed, we’ve started a new collection called “New Adult.” This new collection will
focus on the interests of readers between the ages of 18 to 24. These new titles appeal to readers who have
moved past YA novels and are looking to find characters that share their interests.
In honor of National Friends of Library Week, I’d like to thank the Friends of Tuxedo Park Library who make a
number of things possible, such as our museum membership passes, the summer reading finales and their
ongoing work in the Booksale Room. Thank you, Friends!
