Applications are invited for the following post:
Teaching Assistant in the Department of Geography (Ref.: 201401211) (to
commence on January 1, 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter, for an initial
appointment of up to August 31, 2015, with the possibility of renewal for one year)
Applicants should possess a good Bachelor's degree in Geography, a Master’s degree
in Geography or other related disciplines, and a good command of written and spoken
English as well as communication skills. Those with experience in conducting
tutorials are preferred. The appointee will essentially support the Common Core
curriculum. He/She will assist individual course teachers and the Head of Department
in conducting tutorials; compiling reading lists and documentary sources; searching
and developing new teaching materials; evaluating coursework assignments;
coordinating field visits and class activities; managing class lists and course
schedules/timetables; providing tutorial and academic support to students outside
class; uploading and managing the web-based elements of courses for the
Department's Common Core and undergraduate courses; and performing any other
duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be
