Have your student bring a note to the front office BEFORE school starts on the day they are leaving early. The office staff will write your student a pass so when it is time for them to leave they can come to the front office, sign themselves out and meet you out front or leave if they drive themselves. STUDENT ALERT ! There are students in the building with peanut-nut-tree nut allergies. These are LIFE THREATENING allergies. Look for these signs that may be posted at the entrance of your classroom. Please do not take food containing peanuts-nuts-tree nuts into your class. Take a minute to read the sign that is posted. Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is a weekly time of fellowship, bible study, meaningful lessons, and good people! Starting Oct. 3 each week we will meet in room 500 at 6:30 in the morning and go until 7:00 in the morning. FCA strives to help us understand who Jesus is, and what He has done (and is doing) in our lives. All are welcome, and you don’t have to be an athlete to attend. Seniors may order their cap and gown, as well as other graduation products, from Josten's now! Girls' orders may be placed on Monday, November 17th during all lunches. Back to top Attendance Excused Absences Please call our automated attendance line @ 810.626.2205 with any absences. If your student will be absent for three or more days, an extended absence form is available in the front office. If you are going on a college visit and have to miss school – remember to get a signed letter from the college you are visiting confirming the date you were there. This will be recorded as a “school related” absence and won’t count toward your nine allotted absences. As stated in the Student Handbook (pg. 13), “All absences must be verified by a telephone call or a note from a parent within 48 hours of the absence.” Clubs In order to get a pass to attend meetings, students must have signed up with the club advisor and paid any participation fees required. Passes will not be issued for students who have not paid the activities fee. Students should pay the participation fee to Mrs. Green in the front office. After December 1st the price will increase to $75.00. Also, get your signed contracts in! There is a basket in the front office to drop them off. All Seniors that have paid and have a signed contract for the SANP turned in by December 1st will be placed in a drawing for a $25.00 gift card. Please call the front office (810.626.2200) with all homework requests. Media Center Parking Information Students must have a parking pass in order to park on the school premises. If you do not, you will receive a parking violation ticket. Those green violations MUST be paid to Mrs. Green in the front office ASAP! Special Interests Check out the NEW Eagle newspaper website at www.my.hsj.org/hartlandeagle Electronic Device/Cell Phone Policy Cell phones, pagers, or other related electronic devices may only be used before school, after school, during passing time, and during a student’s lunch period. These items may not be used at any point during instructional/class time. Electronic devices must be turned off before entering a classroom, and cannot be used until a student enters the hallway for passing time. Any cell phone causing a disruption during instructional/class time will be confiscated and sent to the main office. Disruption can include phone ringing, beeping, vibrating, texting, etc. Cameras, including cell phone cameras, shall not be used without specific prior consent from a building administrator. At no time may cameras be used in locker rooms and bathrooms. Laser pens and pointers are absolutely forbidden at all times. CD/MP3 players may be used before and after school, during passing time, and during a student’s lunch period. CD/MP3 players may be used, during instructional/class time, at the discretion of the classroom teacher. Students violating this policy will have the items confiscated and may face progressive discipline. Discipline will be as follows: 1st offense -- Pick up at the end of the next school day or parent pick up, and a one hour after-school detention 2nd offense – Pick up at the end of the next school day or parent pick up, and a two hour after-school detention 3rd offense – 1 day ISS and parent pick-up Confiscated items shall be claimed only by parents from the school office during regular office hours (7 AM through 4 PM).
