PRESS RELEASE Levallois, 13 November 2014 iDAYS’14 BNP Paribas Personal Finance: digital innovation driving financial services in 2020 On 6 and 7 November, during the 4th edition of its iDAYS’14, the international digital community of BNP Paribas Personal Finance, the leading provider of financial services to private individuals, showcased its plans to create innovative financial services for its clients and distribution partners by 2020. The highlights of these two days were a Hackathon with 42 and an Innovation Showroom. "As in previous years, representatives from our subsidiaries came together to meet key analysts and experts from the digital world as well as business contributors from BNP Paribas Personal Finance. This year, we took a trip into the heart of digital innovation" explains Agnès Gerbaud-Seuret, Global Digital Director at BNP Paribas Personal Finance. The iDAYS’14 opened with the launch of a Hackathon in partnership with 42, the computer programming school created in 2013 by Xavier Niel, founder of the French ISP, Free. Assisted by the BNP Paribas Personal Finance digital teams, four groups of students worked on tomorrow's financial services. They were given 48 hours to develop ideas and new concepts and to present them in the form of prototypes. BNP Paribas Personal Finance's international subsidiaries presented their breakthrough achievements and took full advantage of conferences organised by Forrester, McKinsey, Facebook and Paymium, focused on the new market dynamics, new economic modèles and innovative payment solutions. Martin Favre, Directeur, Sales & Marketing and Jean-François Pfister, Risk Director at BNP Paribas Personal Finance, came to explain the impact of digital transformation on their businesses. "The iDAYS are above all the fruit of teamwork that enabled the whole community to exchange and share concrete achievements and also to build together the next stages in a constantly changing world. BNP Paribas Personal Finance is developing solutions for its partners that integrate all its services into the customer's buying experience. This user experience and its adaptation to all connected objects and to the different countries are at the heart of our development strategy. Our added value lies in our international expertise and our ability to propose a tailored approach to each partner in the countries where it operates" adds Agnès Gerbaud-Seuret. The feedback for the Hackathon projects was the highlight of the second day. "This partnership with 42 is a first for our group. We really appreciated the work, commitment and the quality of the feedback. Digital innovation can create value only if it is placed at the service of our customers, and that was our catalyst", explains Agnès Gerbaud-Seuret. "This Hackathon was the opportunity to bring together teams from distant environments to work together around a shared theme. This experience was successful thanks to the commitment of the teams from BNP Paribas Personal Finance and 42 as well as the general atmosphere during this event. The students from 42 invested all their energy and skills in this Hackathon. I'm particularly proud of what they have produced: they could not have represented our school better" concludes Kévin Sicart, a student from 42 who is currently a trainee at BNP Paribas Personal Finance. The iDAYS ended with an Innovation Showroom where the entire community was able to meet key players and start-ups at the leading edge of their sectors.
