CASINO NIGHT:
Our major Shul fundraiser, family Casino night, takes place on Saturday night Nov. 22nd at 7:30 pm. It is
important that everyone participate and bring friends to this event. It will be an enjoyable evening with
thousands of dollars worth of prizes raffled off, with great food, drinks, and Roberto Hausman’s famous
Mojito bar. Even if gambling is not your thing—helping the Shul should be your thing. If you don’t plan on
coming, you can still participate by purchasing $100 worth of raffle tickets. You need not be present to win.
Remember last years’ event? Everyone had a great time - even those who never went to a casino before.
Last year we raffled off a Huge Plasma TV, Heys Luggage, Fujitsu computer, Office chair, Gold Diamond
ring, Huge Trampoline, Double Basketball Arcade Game, roses for a year, ladies luggage, Assortment of
Sporting Goods, Trip to New York. expensive cell phones, ladies fashion gown and accessories, gift
certificates, and much, much more. See flyer for more details—register with the office. Tickets are $100 pp. mostly tax deductible. Fee includes entrance, 40 chips to play with, and as much food and drinks as you like.
THIS SHABBOS MORNING - NOV. 15TH & WESTMOUNT HIGH SCHOOL :
The Shul will be celebrating David Mann’s Bar Mitzvah this week at the Westmount Collegiate High School.
Please be aware that the services will be in the Gym and the kiddush luncheon in the cafeteria. Stanley &
Ingrid are graciously inviting the entire Shul to celebrate at the luncheon with them. There will be buns to
wash on and you can eat your entire Shabbos Seuda at the Bar Mitzvah. No reservations are required - just
come to the school and enjoy the Simcha! There will be only one service this week - starting sat 8:45 AM.

Question: Who is the event for?
Answer: Men & Women and children over Bar / Bat Mitzvah. Jews & Non-Jews are welcome to attend.
Question: What are the fees?
Answer: $100 per person for general admission to the Casino night OR $200 per person to play in the
exclusive poker tournament.
Question: What do I receive in return for the $100 fee?
Answer: You receive a Casino voucher when you register, which can be redeemed for 40 poker chips
from any of the dealers at the casino tables. You can use those chips at any of the Blackjack tables,
roulette, or craps tables. You also receive 1 free picture at our new Graffiti wall photo shoot,
unlimited food at the buffet, and unlimited drinks & Mohitos at the bar.
Question: What do I receive in return for the $200 fee?
Answer: All of the above items that come with general adsmission plus a different voucher for
exclusive entrance to the poker tournament.
Question: What happens when I run out of the 40 poker chips that I received from the dealer?
Answer: You can reload. You can buy another voucher for only $20 and get another 40 poker chips. Or
you can buy 3 vouchers for $50 (that is a total of 120 poker chips!)
Question: What time is the exclusive poker tournament?
Answer: The tournament, which is for a maximum of 40 players, runs from 8:30 PM -10:30 PM.
Question: What prize does the winner of the poker tournament win?
Answer: A prize worth a value of $1,000.
Question: How do I participate in the raffle?
Answer: You exchange your poker chips for raffles. You receive 1 raffle ticket for 20 poker chips.
Question: Must I play any games in order to be eligible for the raffle?
Answer: No. You can even exchange your voucher for 2 raffles and then enjoy the rest of the evening
without playing.
Question: When will the raffle be held?
Answer: At the end of the evening. You need not be present to win.
Question: I have never played casino games before – will I still have a good time?
Answer: Yes. We have specially trained poker dealers who will explain to you how to play. In addition,
you will enjoy socializing over the food and drinks.
Question: Is the admission fee / payment for vouchers tax deductible?
Answer: Yes – to the limited that the CRA will allow. (any where from 50% -100% depending on how
much revenue is received.)
