2012-Present
I work on a software development team that builds and
maintains all clinical and external facing systems which support
Medication Therapy Management (MTM) in pharmacies. In
ten months, our team built a new MTM service documentation
platform which serves more than 100,000 pharmacy
providers and 5.5 million patients. I am responsible for the UI
design and front-end development and work towards improving
consistency of user interfaces and client-side performance
across systems. I implemented a web style guide and
continuously educate other developers on client-side code and
browser debugging tools. Through user research, I drive and
educate my peers to mature our user-centered culture and
collaborate with business partners to simplify project
requirements.
I helped organize a Green Team and take a proactive role in
promoting and facilitating environmental leadership in the
company by giving presentations, organizing projects and
outreach, and tracking progress.
Areas of expertise include user-centered design, usability
testing, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, web standards, cross-browser
compatibility, section 508 compliant code for accessibility, web
analytics, information architecture, and content strategy.
Additional work with ColdFusion, AJAX, and SQL.

2008-2012
I design, develop, and maintain web sites for small
businesses and organizations in Iowa. Past work has included
a web site for a restaurant with administrative access for the
owner to manage menus and events, a web site for an artist
to showcase her work online, and informative static web sites
for an architect and a chiropractor. I am currently working on
a responsive site for a high school scholarship program that
will allow for online donations via PayPal. In addition, I am in
the process of updating a web site I did in 2010 to be
responsive and meet the latest web standards.
I was part of a User Experience web team where I focused
on user-centered analysis and design driving innovation
through new technology and design principles. I combined
business requirements, user needs, and technical constraints to
create UIs that met user expectations while adhering to project
scope. I developed functional prototypes for both web and
mobile applications utilizing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and
conducted usability testing with those prototypes. I helped
create a metrics process for measuring the success of UX
involvement after project completion. I implemented ad codes
and used analytics tools to run usage reports and measure
web traffic. Throughout the dozens of projects I worked on, I
saw increased user satisfaction from surveys, decreased
customer service call volume, and higher task completion and
conversion rates. I also gave presentations to other developers
on HTML, CSS, and browser debugging tools.

Summer 2007
I attended training courses on UX principles and best
practices. I helped develop and grow a web style guide to
improve consistency on web applications company wide. I
educated management and project teams on the value of UX
by giving presentations and being a voice for UX in project
meetings. I created formal documentation on the role of our
team, when to involve us in projects, responsibilities of team
members, and ongoing expectations. I also improved transition
sites (used for oncoming clients) by creating web site
templates with four different levels of customization for clients
to choose from. I was nominated and selected to receive the
Valued Intern at The Principal (VIP) Scholarship which was
awarded to only five of the 80+ interns that summer.
