SG Sun: 8am Our Parish Family 11am Odie B. Warren Mon: 12:05 Marie Schmitt Tues: 7am Sue Dickens Wed: 12:05 Robert H. Steele Thurs: 7am 9am Mary Catherine Roberts School Mass Fri: 12:05pm Charles Higdon Sat: 4:30pm Leon Johnson Sun: 8am Walter Elder 11am Our Parish Family does not endow people with identical or necessarily equal gifts. If you do as well as you can with the gifts given to you by God, you will hear his “Well done.” Not only the gifts, but also the people have equal worth. At the same time, the parable ends with the talent taken from the third servant being given to the one with ten talents. Equal worth does not necessarily mean equal compensation. Some positions require more skill or ability and thus are compensated accordingly. The two servants who did well are rewarded in different amounts. But they are both praised identically. The implication of the parable is that we are to use whatever talents we’ve been given to the best of our ability for God’s glory, and when we have done that, we are on an equal playing field with other faithful, trustworthy servants of God. 11/16– Parent day Rel. January begins Lourdes “Homecoming”; the purpose of this simple outreach program is to invite inactive Catholics back to the faith community and the Sacraments. The goals of “Homecoming” are to provide opportunity to listen to those who have left, to reconcile them with the Body of Christ, to heal past hurts, to discuss Church teaching, and to provide talks on issues, such as divorce and annulments, Church teaching since Vatican II, and the Sacraments. While FAM oversees this outreach, this program is a parish wide endeavor and every parishioner is encouraged to participate by prayer and fasting. Please join us in praying a decade of the rosary a day that our families and friends away from Christ might respond to His invitation to come home to the Catholic Church. November 16 Daycare Fabyan Bridgmon fbridgmon@lourdescatholicchurch.com As you all know a lot of my stories come from the kids, majority from the ones who use the bathroom next to my office. While they are there they practice singing, and talk to their pretend friend. Now I promote good hygiene continuously through out the day, so when the older ones come out from the bathroom I ask them hygiene questions and reward them with a sticker. Well I ran out of Fall stickers and gave one a summer sticker. I said I needed to get to Wal-Mart and get some more and she said, “You better, It’s almost Christmas!” The Moral to this story: Never run out of the right kind of stickers for the right time of year while promoting good hygiene. We’re keeping a look our for the Pilgrims, I’m sure they’re getting closer, lots of drawings and crafts are being touched up for decorations ready for our “Turkey Feast”.
