Sunday School
Sunday School is offered for all ages between our 9:00
am and 11:00 am worship services from 10:10 am to
10:55 am. The classes are designed to be age appropriate so that we all can deepen our faith in Jesus Christ.
Holy Eucharist/Communion
Holy Eucharist, also known as Communion, is open
to all of the baptized of all denominations. The
Episcopal Church has an open table and you are
invited to participate as you feel comfortable. The
ushers will direct you forward to receive the sacrament. To receive the Eucharist, place your right
palm over your left and you will be given the Bread;
the Wine will be offered and you may guide the chalice
to your lips. If you prefer not to drink from it, leave the
wafer on your palm and the chalice bearer will dip it
in the cup and place it in your mouth. If you wish to
receive a Blessing in lieu of the Elements, simply cross
your arms over your chest.
Children and Nursery Care
We love children and we invite them to worship with
us. We also offer a professionally staffed nursery for all
children up through 7 years old from 8:45am to 12:30pm.
The nursery is located in the Education Building past the
reception desk.
Cell Phones
Please, turn your cell phones off so that they do not
disturb you or those around you during worship.
Gluten Free communion wafers are available at the Lectern Communion Station.
Gluten Free emblems are available in the
Narthex so that you can identify yourself
to the person administering communion at
that station. These wafers are made from
rice and soy.

I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your
love toward all the saints, and for this reason I do not
cease to give thanks for you as I remember you in my
prayers. I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom
and revelation as you come to know him, so that, with
the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may know what
is the hope to which he has called you, what are the
riches of his glorious inheritance among the saints, and
what is the immeasurable greatness of his power for
us who believe, according to the working of his great
power. God put this power to work in Christ when he
raised him from the dead and seated him at his right

Liturgy We Live
Noonday Prayer at OU Healthsciences Center
by Dr. Gil Haas
Noonday Prayer is being offered every Wednesday at
noon in the Chapel in the Children's Hospital Atrium
on the OU Medical Center campus. The service is
from the Common Book of Prayer; all people of faith
are invited. The Children's Atrium is on 1200 N Phillips Ave; the Chapel is room 2210, which is on the
ground level behind the waterfall.
The Psalms refer to Egypt as “the land of Ham”. Ham
was the middle son of Noah. He was born when Noah
was 500 years old; Noah was 600 years old at the time
of the flood. After Noah’s ark was grounded on Mount
Araret, each of Noah’s three sons was told to repopulate one-third of the earth. Ham was told to procreate
descendants in the lands west of the Nile River. Before
Ham left for his inheritance, he “saw” the naked body
of his drunken father, Noah. Talmudic scholars deduce
that either Ham castrated his drunken father (to prevent
a fourth son) or sodomized him (based upon the use
of the word, “saw”, in other Old Testament scenarios).
When Noah awoke and realized what had happened,
he did not curse Noah directly, but instead he cursed
his son, Canaan, to be forever “a servant of servants”.
When the nations were scattered following the Tower
of Babel debacle, Ham’s family (except for Canaan)
journeyed to their allotment which was to become
Egypt and all of Africa. Taken together, these passages
concerning the cursed Biblical heritage of Ham’s descendants were later used to justify their enslavement.
