Our special guest, harpsichordist, Jacqueline Vann, Deputy Director of Studies for Dalcroze in UK, has, in
addition to training future teachers and performers, particular interest in developing applications for students
with ‘special needs’, and for revealing the original methods of aural training, keen listening and individual
responses to sounds which Dalcroze initiated.
Margaret Bostaille, from Melbourne, who studied and lived in Europe for many years, has returned, and is
resident in Perth. Apart from piano pedagogy, her particular interest is a thoughtful blend of approaches,
developed from tai chi and other studies, which focus on personal awareness of body, breathing and sensitivity,
valuable for teachers & performers.
Joan Pope, President of Dalcroze Australia, has, for decades, displayed her interest and creative skills in
imaginative work for young children in a full range of inter-related arts experiences. She takes great pleasure
in inviting dancers, storytellers, teachers and child-carers to share the musical delights to be found in active
engagement with the profound ideas of Jaques-Dalcroze.
