IMPORTANT INFORMATION VICTORIA STREET SITE Victoria St is the Shire’s main waste management facility, comprising of; · free presorted recycling area for sorted glass, sorted plastics, paper & cardboard, and e-waste, · the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) - recycling sorting centre · A waste transfer trench - for garbage disposal and transfer to the Bald Hill waste facility in Jugiong, · Scrap metal & whitegoods, · Greenwaste, · DrumMuster · Lead batteries, tyres, and motor oil disposal · Asbestos and Offal disposal GREENWASTE Although Council is planning to introduce a greenwaste kerbside collection in April 2015, residents are encouraged to either compost their greenwaste or self haul to the Victoria St site. Ratepayers currently receive two vouchers for disposal with their rates notice. YOUR GARBAGE & RECYCLING BINS · · · · · Must only contain the acceptable materials listed on this flyer Must have the lids completely closed when out for collection Must be at the kerbside before collection. As collection times may vary from week to week, Council recommends that you put your bin out the night before Must be placed on the kerbside facing the road, clear of trees and cars Do not tightly pack your bins as they may not be able to be emptied. If you are unable to follow these simple rules your bin may not be collected. Random bin audits are ongoing. REDHILL ROAD SITE Redhill Rd is licensed to received inert waste only. This includes building and construction materials, furniture, treated timber, fabrics, hard plastics. Presorted loads of concrete, rubble and bricks can be taken to Redhill for recycling. Scrap metal should be taken to Victoria St. No greenwaste, household garbage, food scraps or liquids can be disposed of at this site. VILLAGE FACILITIES Village facilities are ONLY for household domestic waste and recycling. All other waste must be disposed of at the appropriate Victoria St or Redhill Rd site. Access for eligible residents is via a key system. Keys are available from Council. It is a plastic identification code - what type of plastic the item is made from. Some plastics are not recyclable.
