CUSTOMER INFORMATION PRIVACY STATEMENT The Registrar of Motor Vehicles is required to collect information for registrations, licences and permits under section 92 of the Motor Vehicles Act. The Registrar adheres to the Department’s Privacy Statement and the Information Act. Further information on privacy can be found at www.nt.gov.au/transport INSPECTIONS If a vehicle roadworthy inspection is required (refer inspection due date on the front of this form), vehicles can be inspected at an authorised inspection station located throughout the NT, or at a Motor Vehicle Registry Vehicle Standards Centre. An inspection will be required whenever the renewal period extends the vehicles registration beyond the inspection due date. Inspections conducted at a Vehicle Standards Centre attract a fee in addition to the fees on the front of this form. Inspections conducted by an Authorised Inspector must be received and recorded by MVR before paying online or over the phone. INFRINGEMENT NOTICES In circumstances where only an offending vehicle is identi¿ed any Traf¿c Infringement Notices will be sent to the registered owner/operator of that vehicle. Where a vehicle has joint (or multiple) owners the infringement notice is sent to the ¿rst person (or body corporate) named on the registration certi¿cate or the registered operator where nominated. Compensation is provided regardless of where the injured person normally resides, and regardless of where the vehicle was registered. For motor vehicle accidents occurring outside the Northern Territory, but within Australia, MAC indemni¿es the negligent driver of the NT registered vehicle against claims brought against them by an injured plaintiff.
