Volunteers use their own vehicles to deliver meals on our 14 routes in the county. McDowell County pays a mileage reimbursement to our Home Delivered Meals volunteers. It usually takes 1 hour to 1&½ hours to deliver on each route. The meals are ready to be picked up for delivery at the Senior Center at 11 am each day Monday through Friday. We like each of our volunteers to go one day a week and be able to substitute if another driver is out. If you are interested in delivering meals to help serve a homebound senior, please call 828-659-0821.
