SOUTH HAVEN - The $1.4 million North Side Marina clubhouse
construction project is right on schedule, city officials said Friday.

Natural Resources, under a program funded by marine fuel taxes and boat
registration fees.
The balance is being paid from the city's marina fund, which is supported by marina
users.

In October, contractor A.J. Veneklasen Inc. of Grand Rapids demolished the former
marina clubhouse, built in the 1960s.
The new, larger facility is expected to be finished in mid-March and open for
boaters in mid-April, said Assistant City Manager Paul VandenBosch.
A crane was brought to the site last week to start the process of erecting beams.

City Manager Brian Dissette said the multi-year project started with several public
meetings to get input from neighbors and boaters about what they wanted to see in
the new facility.
