Her ballet training began in Wichita, with June Landrith, she then studied extensively in New York City with David Howard, Maggie Black, and at the Joffrey School. Jill has been Artistic Director of Ballet Wichita since 1997, is a University Lecturer in Dance at WSU, and was Director of the Nancy Hervey School of Ballet. She was recently a guest teacher for the Washington Ballet School in D.C. and has also been a guest teacher in New Jersey and Florida. Jill has also received several grants to work with disabled students in dance projects with USD 259. STEPHANIE BOYLE has a BA in Art History from Washburn University. Originally from Concord, MA, she studied and taught dance with the West Concord Dance Academy for 11 years. While teaching first and second grade at an International School in Cascais, Portugal, she performed with the Portuguese International Dance Academy. She has also had the privilege of dancing in Ballet Wichita’s productions such as the Nutcracker and Ballet in the Park. She is excited to be teaching where she first learned how to dance at the age of four, and where she continued to dance through graduation. She has received numerous awards including an Individual Artist Fellowship Award for Choreography from the Kansas Arts Commission in 2001, the Mortar Board Educator’s Appreciation Award, and the WSU President’s Award for Distinguished Service in 2005. She is also a Dorothy Johansen Hauck Faculty Fellow in Dance. Ms. Celestin has studied teaching methods at Canada’s National Ballet School Teacher’s Seminars in Toronto, Canada, and at the International Vaganova Method Conference/Demonstration in St. Petersburg, Russia. Before joining the faculty of WCT&DC in 1998, she taught at the Children’s Theatre of Western Springs in the Chicago area, working with students to create original dramas. She has also performed at theatres in Iowa and Chicago. JENNY MORSE-MITCHELL has her BFA in Theatre Performances from WSU. She began her dance career at The Dance Center under the direction of Carol Iwasaki at the age of eight. Jenny taught her first tap class at the Dance Center at the age of sixteen. She grew up in theatre performing with Music Theatre for Young People and Wichita Children’s Theatre and later choreographing and performing at many venues in Wichita and surrounding communities. Jenny is a frequent performer at Mosley Street Melodrama and also serves as Founder and Executive Director for the Laughing Feet Performers which is a theatre company for special needs performers. www.laughingfeet.com BRIANA RAMSEY is a psychology major at WSU. She has performed with Butler Dance Team and the Wichita Wild. She is excited to be the first Hip Hop instructor at WCT&DC. KEVIN REESE has been a professional actor, director, tour manager, and playwright. If you’ve seen any of the Once Upon a Time shows or one of the touring shows in the past 20 years, chances are good you’ve seen his plays. He’s been busy raising four kids for the past 19 years, and is happy to be back in the classroom. JULIE SHARP a native of Illinois is a graduate of Butler Community College with an Associate in Arts Degree. While at Butler, she was a member of their dance team and Headliners show choir, serving as their dance captain. Before arriving in Kansas, Julie had studied dance and performance for fifteen years. She currently plays French horn in the CCC orchestra. She has choreographed for various community theaters; show choirs, churches, and pageants. She has also done some private teaching. Kyle Vespestad has worked professionally as an actor with Cabaret Old Town, Crown Uptown, and Mosley Street Melodrama. He has worked for WCT&DC since 1996 as a performer and director. Kyle has written several original musical revues SARAH WALDEN earned her BFA in Dance from Wichita State University. She began ballet training at the age of six and continued her training as a guest high school student with the dance program at WSU. She has performed with the Wichita Children’s Dance Festival, Kansas Dance Festival, and Wichita Contemporary Dance Theatre. She has performed in numerous Nutcracker productions and spring ballets with Metropolitan Ballet of Wichita, Nancy Hervey School of Ballet, Ballet Wichita, and Friends University. She has also taught and choreographed for several studios. SUZIE SHOGREN is a graduate of Butler Community College where she majored in Elementary Education and received a dance scholarship. She has been studying dance for the last 19 years and graduated from WSU with a teaching degree. This fall she will be teaching at the Buckner Elementary, a performing arts magnet. MADDY WONSETLER-THIESSEN studied dance at WCT&DC for 15 years, beginning at the age of three. In recent years she has studied at Ballet Magnificat! in Jackson, Mississippi, Kansas City Ballet, and The Kirov Ballet in Washington D.C. She also spent a year of study at The Joffrey Ballet School in NYC. Maddy has taught young dancers for the last six years. PATTY KIRKPATRICK is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Teaching from Southwestern College and holds a BA in Musical Theater and a BA in Communications from Friends University. While at Friends, Patty was a member of The Singing Quakers and Acts of Faith Drama Ministry Team. She also worked at Walt Disney World in Entertainment and Communications and served as the WCT Tour Manager. MICHELLE VARDAMAN earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in opera and a minor in piano pedagogy and accompaniment from Wichita State University. She then received certification for Italian and Opera History from The Istituto Europo in Florence, Italy. She received her Masters in Vocal Education from WSU in December of 2012. She opened Michelle’s Music Studio in 1996 and has been teaching piano, voice, and theatrical coaching ever since. She began her dance career at The Dance Center under the direction of Carol Iwasaki at the age of eight. Jenny taught her first tap class at the Dance Center at the age of sixteen. She grew up in theatre performing with Music Theatre for Young People and Wichita Children’s Theatre and later choreographing and performing at many venues in Wichita and surrounding communities. Jenny is a frequent performer at Mosley Street Melodrama and also serves as Founder and Executive Director for the Laughing Feet Performers which is a theatre company for special needs performers. www.laughingfeet.com BRIANA RAMSEY is a psychology major at WSU. She has performed with Butler Dance Team and the Wichita Wild. She is excited to be the first Hip Hop instructor at WCT&DC. KEVIN REESE has been a professional actor, director, tour manager, and playwright. If you’ve seen any of the Once Upon a Time shows or one of the touring shows in the past 20 years, chances are good you’ve seen his plays. He’s been busy raising four kids for the past 19 years, and is happy to be back in the classroom. JULIE SHARP a native of Illinois is a graduate of Butler Community College with an Associate in Arts Degree. While at Butler, she was a member of their dance team and Headliners show choir, serving as their dance captain. Before arriving in Kansas, Julie had studied dance and performance for fifteen years. She currently plays French horn in the CCC orchestra. She has choreographed for various community theaters; show choirs, churches, and pageants. She has also done some private teaching. Kyle Vespestad has worked professionally as an actor with Cabaret Old Town, Crown Uptown, and Mosley Street Melodrama. He has worked for WCT&DC since 1996 as a performer and director. Kyle has written several original musical revues SARAH WALDEN earned her BFA in Dance from Wichita State University. She began ballet training at the age of six and continued her training as a guest high school student with the dance program at WSU. She has performed with the Wichita Children’s Dance Festival, Kansas Dance Festival, and Wichita Contemporary Dance Theatre. She has performed in numerous Nutcracker productions and spring ballets with Metropolitan Ballet of Wichita, Nancy Hervey School of Ballet, Ballet Wichita, and Friends University. She has also taught and choreographed for several studios. SUZIE SHOGREN is a graduate of Butler Community College where she majored in Elementary Education and received a dance scholarship. She has been studying dance for the last 19 years and graduated from WSU with a teaching degree. This fall she will be teaching at the Buckner Elementary, a performing arts magnet. MADDY WONSETLER-THIESSEN studied dance at WCT&DC for 15 years, beginning at the age of three. In recent years she has studied at Ballet Magnificat! in Jackson, Mississippi, Kansas City Ballet, and The Kirov Ballet in Washington D.C. She also spent a year of study at The Joffrey Ballet School in NYC. Maddy has taught young dancers for the last six years. PATTY KIRKPATRICK is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Teaching from Southwestern College and holds a BA in Musical Theater and a BA in Communications from Friends University. While at Friends, Patty was a member of The Singing Quakers and Acts of Faith Drama Ministry Team. She also worked at Walt Disney World in Entertainment and Communications and served as the WCT Tour Manager. MICHELLE VARDAMAN earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in opera and a minor in piano pedagogy and accompaniment from Wichita State University. She then received certification for Italian and Opera History from The Istituto Europo in Florence, Italy. She received her Masters in Vocal Education from WSU in December of 2012. She opened Michelle’s Music Studio in 1996 and has been teaching piano, voice, and theatrical coaching ever since.
