Series includes Michel Ocelot’s breathtaking TALES

Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers.
OMAHA (9/27/12) – Film Streams is excited to announce the latest season of our
nonprofit cinema’s ongoing “Forever Young” family and children’s film series.
The fall season begins next weekend with THE ADVENTURES OF ICHABOD &
MR. TOAD, Disney’s 1949 animated classic featuring abbreviated tellings of
Kenneth Grahame's “The Wind in the Willows” and Washington Irving’s “The
Legend of Sleepy Hollow.”

TALES OF THE NIGHT from animation auteur Michel Ocelot (KIRIKOU THE
SORCERESS, AZUR & ASMAR), four classics starring Fred Astaire and Ginger
Rogers, and December runs of Norman Jewison’s FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (1971)
and Frank Capra’s IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE (1946).
Film Streams' Forever Young series is made possible with the support of the

A pair of classic animated adaptations presented together in a 35mm print
from Disney: An abbreviated telling of Kenneth Grahame's “The Wind in
the Willows” narrated by Basil Rathbone and Washington Irving’s “The
Legend of Sleepy Hollow” narrated by Bing Crosby.

From renowned animation auteur Michel Ocelot (KIRIKOU AND THE
SORCERESS, AZUR & ASMAR) comes this gorgeous blending of history
and fairytale, weaving together six exotic fables unfolding in unique
locales—from Tibet, to medieval Europe, an Aztec kingdom, the African
plains, and even the Land of the Dead.
Recommended for Ages 6+.

Fiddler on the Roof 1971
Directed by Norman Jewison.
The big-screen adaptation of one of the Broadway’s most popular and
longest-running musicals and winner of three Academy Awards, including
John Williams’ arrangement of the original score.

It’s a Wonderful Life 1946
Directed by Frank Capra.
One of the most beloved holiday films of all time, starring Jimmy Stewart as
a good man who doubts his life’s worth until a guardian angel shows him
what the world would have been like had he never been born.

One of the best of the Fred Astaire-Ginger Rogers musicals… The charisma
of the stars, the chemistry of the supporting players, the white-telephone
art direction of Van Nest Polglaise, the superlative choreography by Astaire
and Hermes Pan, and the effervescent direction of Mark Sandrich all
combine to make TOP HAT a winner. (All Movie)

A sailor on leave in San Francisco (Fred Astaire) reunites with his former
dancing partner (Ginger Rogers) in this merry maritime romantic comedy
with music by Irving Berlin.

Swing Time 1936
Directed by George Stevens.
A favorite, and arguably the best of the Astaire and Rogers musicals, about
a gambler named Lucky whose efforts to win back his fiancé are
sidetracked when a lovely dance instructor enters his life. Featuring the
Oscar-winning tune “The Way You Look Tonight.”

Shall We Dance 1937
Directed by Mark Sandrich.
A smitten ballet dancer (Astaire) falls for a famous tap dancer (Rogers), but
thanks to a publicity stunt gone haywire, everyone thinks they’re already
married.
