staff at Wisconsin's Winnebago
mental health institute where he held
a variety of clinical, supervisory, and
administrative positions.

Randolph
Mantooth, is
best known to

for his role as
Firefighter/
Paramedic
Johnny Gage
on the television
series, “EMERGENCY!” Don’t miss
Randy’s presentation on the history of
the paramedic program, the pioneers
who laid the groundwork for our
profession, and the TV show that
helped advance ALS systems across
the nation during the 1970s and
inspired thousands to become
firefighters, paramedics and EMTs.

behalf of the County of Los Angeles

Currently Tom operates a private
counseling service for individuals and
families and is a part-time instructor
for the University of Wisconsin.
Mr. Jadin is also an internationally
recognized speaker, trainer, and
consultant in a wide array of topics to
private corporations and public
agencies throughout the United States
and Canada. He has published and
presented over 30 papers and has 10
films to his credit.
Most important to Mr. Jadin,
however, is the fact that he is a
husband, father, pilot, and a genuine
motorcycle nut!
DaiWai M. Olson, PhD, RN,
CCRN
An expert clinician, widely published
author, experienced researcher, and
popular and effective speaker. His
more than 20 years in nursing have
been focused on critical care, with a
primary interest and passion for
neurocritical care.
He has been the principal investigator
on numerous clinical research studies,
and he has spoken extensively
throughout the United States. He is
widely published in numerous
journals, and is a contributor to the
prestigious Lippincott publication
The Clinical Practice of Neurological
and Neurosurgical Nursing, edited by
J.V. Hickey.
Dr. Olson is currently an Assistant
Clinical Professor in the Department
of Medicine, Division of Neurology
at Duke University Medical Center.
He also remains clinically involved
through his position as Level 4 Staff
Nurse in the Neuroscience Intensive
Care Unit at Duke University
Medical Center.
A. Keith Wesley, MD, FACEP
Dr. Wesley is an emergency medicine
physician. He is the former
Wisconsin State EMS medical
director and current Minnesota State
EMS Medical Director. Dr. Wesley is
the author of many articles and EMS
textbooks and a frequent speaker at
EMS conferences across the nation.
He is an active EMS medical director
currently providing medical oversight
at HealthEast, St. John’s and
Woodwinds Hospital, in St. Paul,
Minnesota.

Audience
As advances in patient care continue
to evolve in Emergency Medical
Services (EMS), trauma, and critical
care, we must continue to update our
knowledge and skills in caring for
injured patients and their families.
This two-day multi-disciplinary
conference highlights current issues
in trauma care throughout the
continuum: pre-hospital, emergency,
critical and acute care, and
rehabilitation.
At the conclusion of the conference,
participants should be able to:
Nationally recognized speakers and
local trauma care experts will present
topics pertinent to nurses, physicians,
pre-hospital care providers, program
managers and other health care
providers.
1. Identify the key points related to
the care of the injured patient.
2. Recognize ways we can change
practice to optimize the care of
injured patients.

implementing practice changes
reflective of current care standards.
