or have permission from their college or university to enroll. You can register up to the day class starts. In addition, students
interested in the nursing major must submit (by published dates) the forms provided by the School of Nursing. For further
information contact USC Upstate in Greenville at 864.552.4242 or call the Spartanburg campus at 864.503.5246.
The University of South Carolina Upstate at the University Center of Greenville offers daytime, evening, and online
classes leading to baccalaureate degrees in Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS), Nursing (BSN and RN-BSN), Information
Management & Systems, Engineering Technology Management, Business Administration with a concentration in general
business, and a number of Education degrees and certifications including Early Childhood Education, Elementary
Education, Middle Grades Education, and Special Education/Learning Disabilities. For more information regarding these
programs, please call USC Upstate at the University Center at 864-552-4242.
Bachelor of Arts or Science – Interdisciplinary Studies – Evening Program
The BA or BS in Interdisciplinary Studies is designed for mature students with clearly defined educational goals. The
program emphasizes flexibility to suit the individual. Students who graduate with this degree find employment in
government, business and a variety of other fields. The IDS program allows students to combine course work in two or
more disciplines based on personal interest, the desire for self-improvement, career advancement, or preparation for
study in a profession such as law. Students with a variety of courses from other colleges and universities who do not have
adequate credits for a traditional degree may find that the IDS program will allow them to use many of their previously
earned credits.
Bachelor of Science – Professional Nursing
RN to BSN Completion Track – Online and Day Program
Registered nurses who have previously earned diplomas or associates degrees in nursing are admitted to the
undergraduate program to meet requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Students may complete
the program of study in one calendar year. The school awards 35 semester hours of validated nursing credit to each
registered nurse for past nursing courses. Classes are offered one day per week in-class or via an online format.
Bachelor of Science – Professional Nursing – Day Program
The BS Nursing degree equips students to enter the field of professional nursing by emphasizing a strong clinical background, a
comprehensive knowledge of theory, and development in communication skills and compassion. The curriculum is designed to
provide students the opportunity to acquire tools needed for effective professional nursing practice in a wide variety of settings
and to provide a broad educational foundation that serves as a basis for graduate study in nursing. As the need for well-trained,
capable nurses continues to expand, graduates of this program will find job opportunities abundant. In addition, the bachelor’s
degree assures that graduates are positioned for advancement in the field.
Bachelor of Science – Engineering Technology Management – Evening Program The BS in ETM is designed for engineering technology associate’s degree holders who wish to earn a bachelor’s degree
with only an additional two years of coursework. Students enroll in the program if they possess or are near completion
of an associates degree in engineering technology. The program is ideal for technicians who desire the management
skills necessary to be an effective interface between technicians and upper managers. It uses a comprehensive blend of
management, business, economics, and communications courses to build a layer of management knowledge and skills
on students’ technical foundation. ETM courses include cost analysis, work analysis, systems decision making, quality
practices, and project management. Industry projects integrated with traditional coursework enable students to apply
theory in realistic management situations. The ETM degree will open doors for advancement and give students the ability
and confidence to step through those doors. Visit www.uscupstate.edu/etm for more information.

Bachelor of Arts – Information Management and Systems – Evening Program
The BA in Information Management and Systems degree is designed to position graduates at the forefront of information
creation, access, analysis, and dissemination. Graduates enjoy IM&S careers in areas such as business, healthcare
organizations, government agencies, and educational institutions. The multidisciplinary degree integrates an understanding
of computer science, information science, telecommunications, discipline-specific data, information administration, and an
ability to recognize relationships between technical systems and social structures. Courses emphasize basic quantitative and
qualitative techniques, business functions, effective communication skills, and proactive team interactions. Concentration
areas allow students to focus on the application of technology in one of four fields: business, mass media and public
relations, education and health. The IM&S program is ideal for working professionals as it can be completed without
attending classes on the Spartanburg campus (although attending day and evening classes in Spartanburg is an option for
students). Students will complete a combination of live courses taught in Greenville, online courses taught via the Internet,
and transfer courses taught at Greenville Technical College or other institutions. Bachelor of Science – Business Administration Concentration in General Business
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration allows students the opportunity to work toward a variety of career
goals in general business administration. Quality across the curriculum is a priority. To ensure that the highest standards
are consistently met, the School of Business completed the rigorous process of earning accreditation from AACSB-The
International Association for Management Education. Accreditation by AACSB is regarded nationally as an indication
of excellence in instruction and training. Only a third of business programs in the U.S. have earned this prestigious seal
of approval. Earning a business degree from USC Upstate will allow students to rightfully claim to be a graduate of a
nationally recognized program!
Bachelor of Arts – Early Childhood, Elementary, Special Education (Learning Disabilities) and
Middle Grades Education – Day Program and Elementary Education – Evening Program
USC Upstate’s Greenville Campus offers instruction in early childhood education, elementary education (day or evening
program), middle level education and special education: learning disabilities. Although the curriculum and requirements
of each program are different, the over-riding philosophy of each is common—to prepare students to be the innovators
and leaders of education in the United States. USC Upstate education students lead the way in efforts to reinvigorate
schools, promote business and school partnerships, and ensure quality for all students.
