The Ambient MicroNode is a purpose-built
network device, with advanced processing
capability and memory, designed to
support electric, gas and water utility
communications and applications on
the distribution grid.

The Ambient MicroNode is a member of the
Ambient Smart Grid® Node family – all capable
of being managed remotely by the AmbientNMS® (Network Management System) or
other SNMP based systems.
The Ambient MicroNode directly interfaces
with any device with a serial or Ethernet port,
and can deliver upstream and downstream
high-speed data communications using a
variety of wired or wireless technologies,
including serial, Ethernet, and cellular or Wi-Fi.
The Ambient MicroNode is a device that can
be configured for different roles within
the network.
The comprehensive Ambient Smart Grid
solution enables utilities to deploy a secure,
reliable and scalable high-speed data
communications network that supports
multiple applications.
Ambient’s integrated solutions include
Smart Grid Nodes, Power Quality Monitoring,
outage detection monitoring, current
transformers (CTs), and a network
management system – AmbientNMS® (see
separate data sheet).
