Thanksgiving Schedule
The Church Office will be closed November 27-28 and The ROC
will be closed November 26 (starting at noon)-29 for Thanksgiving.
Regular hours will resume on Monday, December 1.
This Christmas you can live out being
part of “real church” and serve others in our community and around
the world! Giving Christmas is a way
for our Small Groups and families to
share the hope of the gospel.
The Giving Christmas catalog has details for ways you and your family can
give this season. Look for catalogs
throughout the building.
PRAY. GIVE. GO.
Lottie Moon Christmas Offering
A "people group" is the largest community in which the gospel
can be shared without many barriers. There are about 11,250
people groups in the world; of those, more than 6,500 people
groups remain unreached, meaning less than two percent are
evangelical Christian. About 3,000 of those are unengaged – no
one is working among them at all.
Although many are hard to reach, they all need to hear the
gospel. Let’s join in one sacred effort by giving to the Lottie
Moon Christmas Offering. Our gifts to the offering support our
missionaries who are working to share the love of Christ with
those people groups still unreached and unengaged.
Will you give so that others may hear? Look for Lottie Moon envelopes
in the Worship Guide on Sunday mornings in the coming weeks.

Preschool Ministry Baby Coordinator
Single Adult News
Our Preschool Ministry is seeking a Coordinator for the Baby
classes on Sunday morning. If you have a heart for new parents
(especially for moms) and enjoy caring for babies, we have a
special area of service for you. New classes are also opening for
our babies and additional teachers are needed. Contact Melanie
Sanford, melanies@hsbc.org, for all the details.
Single Adult Christmas Party
All single adults and their guests are invited to our annual Christmas
Party Friday, December 5. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided along
with drinks and Small Groups are encouraged to bring side items
and desserts. Our evening will include some know-your-neighbor
games, a group competition, sharing Christmas memories and even
an Elf-Yourself photo booth! This will be a great time to build
authentic community with those you know and have yet to meet.
The party begins at 7:00 pm in the Chapel.
Marriage Prep Class
For those engaged or considering marriage, Marriage Prep is a
ten-week class to help you prepare for a God-honoring marriage.
Topics include God’s design for marriage, conflict resolution,
managing finances God’s way, biblical roles of husbands and
wives and more.
There is a $35 charge per couple to help offset the cost of materials. Some preparatory work is required, so please contact KC
Armstrong, kc@hsbc.org or 205.985.7295, to register and receive
further instructions, or to inquire about more information. The
Marriage Prep class is a requirement to be married at Hunter
Street or by a Hunter Street minister.
Be a Neighbor
Over 250 people have moved into a new house in our community
in the last 90 days. Wouldn’t it be great if they came to Hunter
Street and heard the gospel? You can help make that happen.
The New Neighbor Bags will be available in the Worship Center
Foyer before and after the Thanksgiving service tonight. Don’t
miss this opportunity to meet a new neighbor and invite them
to Hunter Street.
Singles Winter Retreat
The Single Adult Winter Retreat is just around the corner and
registration is now open! February 6-8 we will enjoy the beautiful scenery atop Taylor Mountain at Lake Guntersville State
Park as well as four sessions of teaching and corporate worship. Cabins will sleep four people and are equipped with a full
kitchen and family room area. The retreat includes plenty of
free time to explore the state park on Saturday, such as hiking
36 miles of trails, fishing for large-mouthed bass, spotting the
many bald eagles that call this area home, or enjoying a round
of golf. The cost is $149 and covers lodging, four meals, drinks
and snacks for the weekend. To register or for more information, visit HunterStreetSingles.org.
Place a Poinsettia
Would you like to order a poinsettia for Christmas? These flowers can be given in honor or in memory of someone special. The
poinsettias will be on display and are $15 each. On December
21, a recognition program will be included in the bulletin and
flowers may be picked up after the third worship service on that
day. Please come to the Church Office or The BookStore before
the December 7 deadline to order your flower.
