Socio-economic aspects BLUE GROWTH FOCUS AREA Blue Growth Focus Area in 2014 • 11 topics + SME instrument • Evaluation carried out in 2 stages for RIA and IA, and in 1 stage for CSA. • 128 proposals received for the 1st stage • 68 proposals submitted for the 2nd stage and single-stage • 17 proposals selected for funding (by 26 Nov) • Overall budget allocated 99.8 M€ BLUE GROWTH FOCUS AREA Blue Growth Focus Area in 2015 • 4 topics + SME instrument (marine biotech & aquaculture) • Focus is on: Preservation and sustainable exploitation of the North Atlantic Effect climate change on fisheries and aquaculture Response capacities to oil spills and marine pollutions Support to JPI "Healthy and Productive Seas and Oceans" • Overall budget allocated 43 M€ SUSTAINABLE FOOD SECURITY FOCUS AREA SFS Focus Area in H2020 Ensuring availability and access to sufficient safe and nutritious food that is sustainably produced 1. Eco-intensification of production 2. Ensuring a sustainable management of natural resources and dealing with climate change 3. Technologies for a sustainable food chain 4. Safe foods and healthy diets for all 5.
