G. Hearing of the Public
The Hearing of the Public will last sixty minutes with each person having five
minutes to speak.
A Wellington School District Citizen should sign in to be recognized by the chair,
may speak relative to any current school related issue at this time but the chair
may limit remarks pursuant to the debate regulations of Robert’s Rules of Order.
Persons wishing to speak should rise. When recognized by the Board President,
the individual recognized will be asked to first state his/her name and address so
that the Board may respond to questions or concerns presented. The individual
may then make a statement to the Board.

1. Retirement:
a. Approve the disability retirement of Christopher Wert as High School
Principal effective November 30, 2014 based on the determination by the
State Teachers Retirement System;
2. Resignation:
a. John Nolan as Superintendent effective February 28, 2015;
3. Leave Without Pay:
a. John Perry – Leave without pay for two (2) days on October 21-22, 2014;
4. Employment:
a. Hire Richard Reighley as High School Principal effective December 1, 2014
for the remainder of the 2014/2015 school year;

McCormick Middle School to return him to full-time status for the
2014/2015 school year as part of the Reduction-in-Force Recall Process
effective January 20, 2014 (M+30/16);
d. Hire Holly Sommerville O’Daley as Home Instruction Tutor at $15.00 per
hour for a Wellington High School student on an IEP who has been placed
on home instruction due to a disciplinary decision for one (1) hour per
school day missed or one-half (1/2) hour for each half day missed beginning
September 30, 2014 through November 19, 2014;
e. Decrease daily hours for Rosalyn Harrell as Bus Aide from 2.5 hours per day
to 1.75 hours per day effective November 3, 2014;
f. Payment of $30.00/hour stipend for a maximum of four (4) hours to Melissa
Hatfield for attending the CPI (Nonviolent Crisis Prevention) Training
during the month of October 2014;
g. Approve Ernest Wetherbee as Volunteer Bowling Coach for the 2014/2015
school year;

B. It is recommended that the Wellington Exempted Village School District Board of
Education approve the following items:
1. Request Resolutions:
a. Removal and disposal from inventory and disposal of miscellaneous items
no longer in working condition (see attached);
2. Contracts:
a. Contracted Services Agreement with Center for Arts – Inspired Learning to
provide Deaf Awareness Workshop for 4th Grade Students provided by
Signstage - $555.00 (Grant Funded);
b. Settlement Agreement with Nicholas Vaughn regarding the teaching of
High School/College Articulation courses during the 2013/2014, 2014/2015,
and 2015/2016 school years;

the Keystone Local School District to the Wellington Ex. Village School
District for the 2014/2015 school year;
e. Contract for Open Enrollment Special Education Services provided by the
Wellington Ex. Village School District to the Black River School District for
the 2014/2015 school year;
3. Memorandums of Understanding:
a. Approve the M.O.U. between the Wellington Ex. Village School District and
the Wellington Education Association regarding the modification of Article
X, Section 10.01 and Article XI, Section 11.01 of the Negotiated Agreement
addressing the District’s High School/College Articulation Program;
b. Approve the M.O.U. between the Wellington Ex. Village School District and
the Wellington Support Staff regarding Article 11 of the Negotiated
Agreement addressing the mid-day bus route for the 2014/2015 school year.

VII. MOTION TO MOVE TO EXECUTIVE SESSION – Per the Ohio Revised Code
121.22 (G)(1) to consider the discipline of a public employee or official and the
investigation of charges or complaints against a public employee unless the public
employee, official, licensee or regulated individual requests a public hearing.
District officials and employees shall not disclose or use, without appropriate
authorization, any information acquired from this executive session that is
confidential because of statutory provisions or which has been clearly designated
as confidential because of the status of the proceedings or the circumstances under
which the information was received, where preserving its confidentiality is
necessary to the proper conduct of District business. O.R.C. §102.03(B).

ADDRESSING THE BOARD
School patrons are reminded when addressing the Board, statements about school
employees, students, or parents must be accurate and that all remarks made at a public board
meeting are subject to the libel and slander laws of the State of Ohio.
Patrons wishing to meet privately with the school board are asked to contact the
Superintendent prior to the Board Meeting so that the agenda may be adjusted and a time
can be arranged.
MEETINGS AND EXECUTIVE SESSIONS
This meeting and notices of all meetings are in compliance with O.R.C. 121.22. This Board of
Education shall discuss in Executive Session only those items allowed in O.R.C. 121.22.
Board of Education members receive their copies of the agenda 72 hours prior to each
meeting. This provides them with time to review all items, request additional information, if
needed, and establish a position prior to the call for a vote.
