Walk slowly on snowy and icy walkways. ♦ Let someone know where you are going and when you expect to arrive. ♦ Be sure to have emergency supplies (water, canned/no-cook food, non-electric can opener, first-aid kit, flashlight/extra batteries, medicines, shovel, cell phone, road maps, emergency flares, extra clothes/ blanket, etc.) in your car and home. ♦ Watch for signs of hypothermia (uncontrolled shivering, slow speech, memory loss, stumbling, sleepiness & extreme tiredness). ♦ Keep the gas tank full that will keep the fuel line from freezing.
