Scholarships are sponsored by businesses and individuals through the National FFA Foundation and are given for a wide variety of experiences, career goals and higher education plans. The selection process takes into account the whole student - FFA involvement, work experience, Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE), community service, leadership skills and academics. Deadline: February 1, 2015 University of Idaho Friends of 4-H College Scholarship The University of Idaho Friends of 4-H Board offers scholarships to assist Idaho 4-H members with post-high school education in Idaho. Applicant must be between the ages of 16 and 20 and have been a 4-H member for at least 4 years at the time of application. Two of the four years must have been during High School. Deadline: February 1, 2015 Idaho School Board Association Scholarship Not less than $250.00 The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage and promote the attainment of higher educational goals for students who have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement and citizenship during high school. Eligibility: Children and grandchildren of Idaho public schools trustees or of charter school governing board members, past or present, are eligible to apply for these scholarships. The parent or grandparent (not great-grandparent) must be an active board member or must have previously served 3 years or longer. Applicants for the 2015 Scholarship Program must be a senior who is graduating (or plans to graduate) from an Idaho public high school prior to September 1, 2015. The student should be planning to enroll in a postsecondary educational institution during the year they are awarded the scholarship. The number of awards is conditional on the availability of funds. Awards will be available to scholars pursuing academic and professional-technical education. The $3,000 award is renewable for up to four years for academic scholars, and for the term of the chosen program, up to three years, for professional-technical students. Applicants must be juniors who participate or have participated in at least one IHSAA-sponsored sport and one IHSAA-sponsored activity. IHSAA-sponsored activities are: cheerleading, dance, drama, speech, debate, vocal music and instrumental music. These activities must be extracurricular and should be performance-based. Any spouse or child of a full-time or part-time public safety officer (peace officer or firefighter, paramedic or EMT), employed by or volunteering for the state of Idaho or for a political subdivision of the state of Idaho, which public safety officer is or was a resident of the state of Idaho at the time such officer was killed or totally and permanently disabled in the line of duty as determined by the United States social security administration.
