WINTER/SPRING 2015 - Village of Hinsdale

Village of Hinsdale PARKS AND RECREATION
RECREATION PROGRAM GUIDE
WINTER/SPRING 2015
Registration begins Dec. 15 for residents and non-residents.
LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR
Dear Hinsdale Residents,
With change of seasons, residents will begin to gear up for the upcoming holidays. For many,
the start of the New Year allows for time to consider making a new year’s resolution; this may
include an opportunity for self-improvement or time to take on a new challenge. As you give
consideration to making a resolution, consider a new program or activity that may spark your
interest. Programs offered by the Village or opportunities at Village Parks may assist in jump
starting your resolution.

The Winter/Spring Recreation Program Guide includes a variety of program offerings for all ages;
those in search of winter activities will be excited with the new program offerings. The cold
weather doesn’t have to limit outdoor activities; platform tennis is a sport that many residents
enjoy in the winter months, lesson information can be found in the brochure. When the snow
falls, KLM Park offers residents an opportunity to enjoy cross country skiing and sledding.
With the help of residents, ice rinks will be installed at Burns Field, Burlington and Melin Park.
Information regarding ice conditions and warming house hours can be found on the Parks &
Recreation webpage at www.villageofhinsdale.org/pr.
This fall, as a part of the capital
improvement plan, a number
of construction projects were
completed. The playground at
Peirce Park was replaced. The
existing playground and shelter
were demolished which allowed
for an open site plan for the new
playground. Additional park
improvements included the
resurfacing of the Brook Park walking
path and parking lots, sidewalk
repairs at Burns Field and KLM Park
and plantings at KLM Park. These
improvements are investments in our community and are resources all residents can enjoy.
Take a moment to review program offerings; signing up for a program is a great way to start the
New Year!
Best wishes to all of you for a happy and healthy holiday season!
