CLASS PLACEMENT FOR STUDENTS - Student’s are placed in classes according to their ability, age,
attitude and achievement. Students are advanced as their progress requires and are not held back because of
age or size. The student not being able to keep up with the class that he/she is assigned to will be reassigned
to a more suitable class. In most cases, the entire class progresses as a unit. Only your child’s teacher will be
able to determine the proper class. We use a graded system of body placement and technique that monitors
progress properly.
Students are expected to be PROMPT and READY for class. The Dance Center is not responsible for students
after their class is over. Regular attendance is necessary to promote a good learning environment. THE
DANCE CENTER HAS THE RIGHT TO PLACE A STUDENT IN ANOTHER CLASS BECAUSE OF
EXCESSIVE ABSENTEEISM AND/OR TARDINESS.
Students that drop out midyear…. Should notify the studio in writing of their plans to withdraw
from class. The studio will consider that student enrolled and charge tuition until a written letter
is received.

Dress Code
2014-2015
Correct Dance attire and proper grooming are as much a part of dance education as learning the
steps and technique themselves. Hair should be away from the face, off the neck in a bun and bangs should not be
covering the eyes. ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR THEIR HAIR IN A BUN TO EVERY CLASS. The
teacher reserves the right not to let a student enter class if their hair is not properly tied back in a bun. Swinging
ponytails will not be allowed. Flying hair is a distraction and in the way while dancing. Jewelry is not allowed to be

Letter to Parents & Students
2014-2015
Excessive absenteeism
It is very difficult to give your child the proper education they deserve when they have missed the majority of
their classes.
In the past we have allowed students to start late in the season due to conflicts with sports. This will no
longer be allowed. A great deal of their dance education is missed the first three months of class. They will
have to start in another class, as close to their level as possible, at the beginning of the year.
We cannot allow excessive absences due to activities outside the dance studio. We do encourage extra
activities as long as they do not interfere with their scheduled classes. Excessive absences affects their
progress as well as the progression and moral of the entire class.
Class Appearance and Dress Code
Parents and students need read and sign a dress code agreement. In an effort to give your child the best
dance education it is necessary for them to be prepared for class. Their appearance is very important.
Basically when you look like a dancer you feel like a dancer. A copy of the agreement is enclosed in this
packet. Read the agreement with your child , sign it and send it along with your registration.
