Bankers First Mortgage has been helping hundreds of new clients purchase a home for less than the cost of rent. And the best part is they will take care of everything. They refer the real estate agent, title company, insurance company, inspector and appraisal. They do it all so you don’t have to. George Hanzimanolis, President of Bankers First Mortgage, states, “every renter wants to own a home. They are just worried they won’t get approved. So, we’ve taken the process over for them. We meet with them, or talk with them over the phone. Once we know what their concerns and wants are, we go to work for them. We pick several realtors that fit their needs and they determine which one they feel most comfortable with. Once they do that, everything else falls into place.”. When asked about the obstacles most people encounter, Hanzimanolis states, “Most people in today’s economy have some items on their credit. They think they can’t get a mortgage because someone at their local bank told them they couldn’t work with their credit scores. I review their credit and help them get it fixed. Sometimes it’s an easy fix, and they’re ready in 30 days to proceed”. Bankers First Mortgage was founded in 1992 and has lent nearly $3 billion in residential mortgages in this area. They were awarded the prestigious honor of “National Mortgage Company of the Year” in 2008 by Fannie Mae, and have been called upon to help draft consumer protection legislation on several occasions in Washington DC. I encourage anyone that wants to buy a home to contact Bankers First Mortgage at 570-620-9561 or visit our secured website at www.BankersFirst.com and let us go to work for you! This generation, born between 1981 and the early 2000s, has a desire to pursue passion over traditional expectations. Dreams of white picket fences have been replaced by a strong desire to invest in the future. This shift, however, means many millennials pay rent instead of a mortgage. “Millennials have Winter Special 25% OFF Painting & Pressure Washing Simple Repairs to Complete Renovations • Interior/Exterior Renovations • Gutter Cleaning • Roofing • Siding • Windows/Doors BAC K H O E lows, making payments quite affordable while gaining valuable equity. 2. I need a larger payment: Millennials often assume their limited years’ worth of savings won’t equal a large enough down payment on a home. The reality is, with standard Fannie Maeand Freddie Mac-insured loans, a down payment as low as 5 percent is enough, while FHA-insured loans only require 3.5 percent. 3. My credit score is too low: With the stresses of credit card debt and student loans, millennials often struggle to maintain a desirable credit score. Fortunately, several programs, including the FHA mortgage, offer favorable credit score minimums. 4. The process is complicated and confusing: With their busy lives, millennials often assume the process of buying a home is too burdensome. Homeowners must take on a 30-year payment: Thirty years can seem overwhelming for the millennial with a lifestyle fueled by the ability to be free. In reality, many out lenders offer terms ranging from eight to 30 years, for as much flexibility as desired. Of the positive outlook for millennials, Gurman adds, “The future of our housing economy looks bright for millennials looking to re-evaluate their current financial hopes and dreams.” A Fresh Approach To Fresh Air (NAPSA)-If you think a screen door is a great way to let fresh air in and keep insects out of your home, you may want to retract that. The door, that is. That’s because you can now get a screen door that retracts into its frame, hidden from view so it’s there when you need it and out of sight when you don’t. One such door, the Brisa Retractable Screen Door, is mounted to the outside of the doorframe rather than the inside like many others, so you get a full, clear view of the outside without losing valuable walkthrough space. You also avoid the annoying banging and slamming of traditional hinged screen doors. What’s more, Brisa is easy to install yourself whether you have inward- or o u t w a rd - s w i n g i n g single-entry doors, sliding patio doors or double doors. Three-Step Installation Brisa requires a mere 30 minutes to install from start to finish and a single tool: a power drill. It takes just three simple steps: 1. Assemble the five components. 2. Place the screen onto the door frame. 3. Secure the screen onto the door frame. It was tough! Mom didn’t even want to think about Personal Care. She kept insisting that she could manage. I was tempted to remind her that it was me that took her shopping and to the hairdresser and the doctors appointments and the pharmacy but that really wasn’t the crux of the matter at all. After all she’s done for me, I was happy to help out, to do what I could to help her stay in her home. It was the not knowing that kept me up at night. Not knowing whether she was eating regularly, if she had taken her medication or if she’d fallen or left the stove on. I worried constantly and so did my brother so we started checking in on her more often. Eventually we arranged for home care for a couple of hours every day but no matter what measures we took we couldn’t shake the feeling that she was in a rut and had lost that spark. She seemed to lack direction, sleeping odd hours and staring at the TV seemingly unaware of what she was watching half the time. After a family meeting and no small amount of consternation we agreed to suggest to her that she begin to think about a Personal Care Residence. As you might imagine she wasn’t crazy about the idea. The only concession she would make was that she would at least visit a couple of facilities for ‘future reference.’ The visit to Walden III was a revelation to her. I can only imagine what she expected to find but what she did see, people her age engaged in all sorts of activities or talking animatedly at meals, clearly made an impression on her and although she wasn’t ready to ‘sign on’ then and there, the seed had been planted and within a month she agreed to at least give it a try. It’s been positive for everyone involved! Within a couple of weeks, Mom’s focus shifted from all that she was ‘giving up’ to all that she’s getting. The staff and the residents both seemed to understand what a vulnerable time it can be for newcomers and everyone gave her a very warm reception. The residents are a very nice group of people and their desire to want to continue to do as much as they can for themselves was contagious and Mom seemed to get a boost from the start. I think the key to the whole thing is that they’re engaged in life and now thankfully so is Mom. She still won’t say to us that she thinks the move was necessary or that she’s happy to be there but when my brother or I have her home for dinner or a family event at some point during the visit she will invariably inform us that she “should probably be getting home!” ... but she’s glad she did! Just the right amount of care at the right price. Here are three warning signs to watch for on your next trip to the mechanic. • While no one likes to be overcharged, beware of estimates that are well under market rate.
