Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Now that the Christmas Holidays and New Year are behind us, we can reflect on the year that’s past and look
toward a future filled with hope for continued success with the good we do as a council.
One of the most striking examples of the success of our team efforts was the Advent Service held on December
11th. Being Co-Chaired by PGK, John Didden and Brother, Skip Luberto, the event had absolutely perfect leadership. That leadership, combined with the support given by our Chaplain , Deacon Paul, the Council and the Parish
brought about a fabulous, blessed event.
The Council Christmas Party which was held on December 18th at the Sunrise Yacht Club, gave us a wonderful
evening and atmosphere to celebrate Christmas and enjoy the company of our Brothers, Sisters and families. We
thank Co-Chairmen, Andy Marincsak and Lou Otarola, also Sal Sanseverino, tending bar, and Mike Mundo’s
unending help with some members of the Yacht Club for making the party possible.
This month we have our two meetings, Business on January 8th and Business/Social on January 22nd. Make an
attempt to attend as a new beginning in 2015.
The Free Throw Contest is coming up on January 25th at the Sacred Heart Gym. Chairman, Rich Marino will need
a commitment from some of our Brothers to assist with the judging and organizing the day of the contest.
(See Details on Page 4)
We look forward to February when we will have our Winter Blood Drive at Sacred Heart, the Pancake Breakfast at
Cure’ of Ars, as well as our regular Business and Social Meetings.

Looking at the successes we had in December with our Advent Service and Christmas Party, which demonstrate
the loyalty and interest of our Brothers to attend these events. It is wonderful when we all come together, however,
we need to have the same support at our meetings as we do for other events. The more support and attendance we
have at our meetings, the more potential for input that can bring about new ideas. We are always looking for ways
of making the Council a more interesting and enjoyable part of life.

Thank You..

Happy, blessed, faith filled New Year. Here we are in another
calendar year. A reminder to us, that indeed, that time is flying by. We need to
build on our Advent lessons that we should be alert, pay attention to the workings of the Spirit. Prepare the way of the Lord. We work each day to bring the
Lord to all, “in service to one and service to all.” The world, our world, our
community, our family are all in need of Christ’s love, compassion, gentleness,
patience and justice. We are all the Lord’s disciples, baptized to carry out this
mission. May we be more effective ministers of His gifts, to renew and revitalize others and ourselves. We are all companions on this journey of life, each
called to walk the path set out for us, with the Spirit at our side. May we provide encouragement and support to one another along the way.
We continue our yearlong preparation for the 8th World Meeting of Families
to be held September 22nd - 27th, 2015 in Philadelphia, PA. Pope Francis will
be there to celebrate “The Family Fully Alive”, The Domestic Church. All
families represent The Church and are the best schools of our faith development. The theme for this month of January is family forgiveness. Fundamental
to our faith, forgiveness starts with those closest to us. We remember that the
fruit of God’s forgiveness is that we become closer to Him. How can we help
others to know that we want to be closer to them again as well? May our efforts
this month, this year, help heal family wounds and promote forgiveness.
As we approach the Feast of The Epiphany, may we be alert to new beginnings,
more open to change, to allow Christ’s love to work through us, to rejoice in
the gifts of the Spirit, to build our Domestic Church.
