New Year's resolutions are often about our own

In simplest terms, this means putting the needs of our
students first in your professional life. It means saying

teach, care, and nurture them. This is a New Year's
resolution that will in fact last the entire year from the
time you start it, and once you start it, you are likely
to not turn back from it. SHS is on the verge of having
its best academic year in the STAAR Era and being a
champion for our students will make this happen!

SHS Students Give Back During Christmas
SHS students participated in an array of community
service activities as they got into the Christmas spirit of
giving. Sports Medicine students, sponsored by Coach
Vincent and Coach Orozco, participated in the “Fill the
Pantry Food Drive.” National Honor Society, sponsored
by Ms. Mota and Mr. Carle, participated in a gift exchange
with our LID students at SHS. These were just some of the
groups that got involved in the spirit of the season.

SHS Music Students Perform Live
The Mighty Cardinal Band held its Holiday Concert on
Wednesday, December 17, 2014. The SHS Band
performed various holiday themed songs before a packed
audience at the SHS Auditorium. Special thanks go out
Dr. Ricketts and Mr. Misko for coordinating the event.
The SHS Choir Concert, led by Mr. Ahumada, performed
on Thursday, December 18, 2014 and had a very good
performance as well. Congratulations to all students!

SHS Faculty Celebrates Holiday Week
SHS Faculty and Staff members celebrated Holiday Week
at SHS the week of December 15-19. Faculty and Staff
members were treated to breakfast and lunch. Faculty
and Staff members also participated in events like “Ugly
Sweater Day.” Special thanks to the ALPHA Team for
