New Jersey Energy Master Plan
We are committed to the New Jersey Energy Master Plan goal to achieve
22.5% of the State’s electricity needs from renewable sources by 2020.
Solar Act of 2012

and farmland.
• Encouraged development on closed Landfills and
Brownfields.
(Engineering and site prep costs $$$)
What’s left are large
rooftops and
FLOATING SOLAR!
Background
• Floating Solar - 1st developed in Japan
• Floating Pontoons – no metal contact with
water
• Longer solar productivity on cooler surface
• Can withstand winds up to 85 mph
• Reduces algae and biota growth in reservoirs
• Reduces evaporation/water loss in reservoirs
Floating Solar PV Systems
Floating Solar Panels
• Some models actually turn to face the sun to
deliver increased productivity
Doughty Pond Reservoir
