Ramachandra Rao, Executive Director has relinquished his office on 24th April, 2005 on attaining the age of superannuation. Mr. Rao had joined BHEL RC Puram Unit as Jr. Executive and served this great organization for 37 years in different capacities and rose to the level of Executive Director. It was during his tenure, the company could achieve the highest ever order book position, and a record profit of Rs.308 crores before tax. Speaking on this occasion Sri Rao said that he is confident that BHEL RC Purm Unit has all the potential and will achieve the target set for the current year or even more and cross Rs.3000 crores. Sri Rao also said that he is passing on the baton to his successor Sri C.P.Singh, Executive Director with a strong conviction that BHEL has a bright future and will emerge as a world class engineering giant. In a grand evening function organized by BHEL International Club on 23rd April, a fond farewell was given to Sri B. Ramachandra Rao and at the same time a warm welcome was extended to Sri Chandra Pratap Singh, new Executive Director. All senior executives and their families attended this programme. Participants in Quality Circle National Convention Service to to Society Service Society BHEL ADOPTED VILLAGES As a Corporate Social Responsibility, BHEL RC Puram Unit has adopted two Scheduled Tribes dominated villages of Devula Thanda and Bhojya Thanda for development. As an on going project, BHEL has provided drinking water facility to the local people by digging 2 bore-wells. Approach roads and laid drainage lines in these villages. A class Room constructed by BHEL and a Medical Health Centre set-up by our BHEL General Hospital were dedicated to the people of these villages by then Executive Director Sri B. Ramachandra Rao, on 17th April. On this occasion. Sri G. BABA SAHEB AMBEDKAR JAYANTHI Foundation stone was laid on 24th April 2005 for BHEL MIG Railway line Over Bridge by Sri B. Ramachandra Rao, Executive Director. Guest of Honour Sri C.P. Singh, Executive Director and Sri Teegala Krsihna Reddy, president TNTUC were also present on the occasion. BHEL Management has sanctioned an amount of Rs.15.00 Lakhs under Welfare Fund for the year 200506 to meet the expenditure. The new bridge will connect BHEL MIG Phase I and II by road. Commutation will be easy for over 2000 employees and their families for attending duty and for other purposes, who at present cross a railway line at the bottom level. Dr.Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanthi was celebrated by BHEL SC/ST Employees Associations on 14th April 2005. A Blood donation camp was organized by Sri A. Panduranga Rao, Secretary Lions Club which was inaugurated by the then Executive Director Sri B. Ramachandra Rao.
