It has almost become our second home reaching our fifteenth cup final since we began business twelve years ago, six of which has been played at Giant-Axe. If not for one being played at Quarry Park it would have been seven. Many of the squad have been with us for quite some time now, and it is remarkable to think that, Johnny, robin, Joe and Tom have played in everyone of those finals wow!! Founder members of the Lune and District 7-aside League, Bowerham have had a notable history, in both Youth football and now adult football. Numerous league titles, multiple cup winners and success in many tournaments. I would however suggest that our biggest prize is this seasons promotion to the Lancaster Honda North Lancashire and District Premier Division. We started out in Division Four when most of the players were only sixteen and seventeen, each and every season we have earned promotion and now having had an enthralling and enjoyable season in Division One, we look forward to competing with the big boys in the top division. The players have worked hard and displayed great character and commitment, both Derek and myself are proud to be their managers, well done boys. Marsh United Reserves v Bowerham what a fantastic final, two of the best footballing sides in the division. It promises to be an exciting night and hopefully both sides will rise to the occasion and bring out the best in each other. We wish marsh united Reserves the best of luck, but we look forward to lifting the trophy Andy Horrocks goal keeper known as Babba, has been compared to a cat, his favourite animal. Jonny Daglish defender, energetic full back, has it all pace, stamina, strength, skill and determination, just lacks a left foot. Theo Pavli Defender. A big unit known as the ‘Thigh Brigade’, great tackler, dangerous in opponents penalty area. Kassim Hollins Defender. Kas the only defender from the Potters who can play football and who has a strong tendency to claim any goal, touch or no touch as his. Adam Browne Defender. Quality addition to the squad. Likes a chat during the game with opponents left winger, a class act. Bowerham Player Profile Tom Spenceley Midfielder. Mr Bowerham, heartbeat of the side, has played in all successive promotions. He is priceless and has scored important goals, he has a never say die attitude and has a tremendous engine. Joe Bouskill Midfielder/Striker. Twelve years down the line and decap has forever been prone to lambasting any referee. The Bouskill bombs give many defenders nightmares, a class act. John Harrison (Captain) Midfielder. Midfield general, commands respect on and off the pitch. He can cut open any defence with his awesome passing ability and electric pace. Tom Devlin Midfielder. Dev loves to spray passes all over the pitch and cannot resist the long distant shot. He is partial to Cumberland Sausage and chips. Carries a little fluid. Phil Meeks Midfielder. Likes a moan. But he has demonstrated a great ability and also has an eye for goals. James Wright Striker. Wandering spirit, still looking for his natural footballing home. Scored vital early season goals but his contribution has lessoned as his love of Chesterfield has grown. Andy Doggett Striker. Football critic and hairstyle icon. The ginger winger is an impact player who has scored some vital goals to help the team progress. Andy Strachan Striker. The explosive striker with pace with not a hair out of place. He has a swagger and a cool finish and is the clubs leading scorer. Jamie Vinnicombe Striker. Painfully slow and milk turns quicker, however he has a ferocious left foot and is always likely to score a screamer. Edward Turner Striker. The ‘academic’ recently returned from University and has made an important contribution to the side. Other players who have played this and contributed to the team effort but have now moved on are: Dave Gardner, Mike Stubbington, Nick Turner and Daniel Jones. Adam Harris Defender. Known as the fridge. He has brought stability to the back four and has driven the team forward and is also a bit of a grrrroaner, but we luv him. Derek, Deborah, myself and everyone at Bowerham Fc would like to thank Lawrie, Mick and Phil and all the Lancaster Honda North Lancashire and District League management committee for all their hard work and dedication. Simon Gillespie Midfielder. Dead ball specialist, known throughout the land for his fearsome left foot, often likened to a young Stuart Downing. Special thanks go to Derek Bailey and Deborah Bouskill for all their hard work over many years. Robin Dalgish Midfielder with great skill and pace. Needs a haircut and likes trips to the Lake District, also known for being Jonny’s brother.
