Little Sisters of the Poor has a vacancy at their eldercare facility, St. Joseph's Home for the Aged, for a fillin night security guard to work for time off of full-time staff. The ideal candidate will have security experience, mechanical ability, schedule flexibility as well as a proven track record for dependability, independent work habits, and utmost integrity. The position is for 40 to 60 shifts throughout each year (including some weekends and holidays); each shift is 10 hours, from 8:30 PM to 6:30 AM. High School Youth Council and other youth group members are needed to serve dinner at the house at 5:30pm. Meals should be for approximately 10 adults and between 15-20 kids. Our group will need to arrive at about 4:45-5pm to serve. Dinner lasts until 6:30 pm. Our NEXT meal will be on February 4th. Diocesan Youth Conference will be held February 27th – March 1st at the Richmond Marriot near the Convention Center. Cost is $170 per youth (including meals, lodging, t-shirt and events). All 8th-12th graders are eligible to attend. Contact Sarah to get a registration form. Middle and High School Christian Formation will have its next session on Sunday, January 25th from 3-5pm. PROJECT H2 is our High School Youth Council’s initiative to raise awareness and gather donations of new or gently used/clean TEEN clothing for our brothers and sisters at Hilliard House, a transitional homeless shelter for women and their children. Donations can be brought to Sarah Brockwell’s office at any time. HH also offers support to those families that transition from the shelter to a home. Project H2 will accept donations for TEENS like bedding, small kitchen appliances, room decorations, etc. This is a year-round initiative! VIRTUS Training is the Diocese of Richmond’s program to attend to the safety of all children.
