The team boasts a 5-4-1 overall record and 4-3-1 record in league play. The Hornets started the season with a pair of shutouts against Hayward (3-0 on Dec. 9) and San Lorenzo (8-0 on Dec. 16). All five of the team’s victories have come from shutouts with the three others being against Northgate of Walnut Creek (1-0 on Dec. 20), Encinal (2-0 on Jan. 7) and Piedmont (2-0 on Jan. 16). The Hornets next contest is against Bishop O’ Dowd of Oakland on the road. Encinal Jets The Encinal men’s team is also off to an undesirable start. The Jets are 0-6-1 and 0-4 in the WACC. The Jets played St. Joseph Notre Dame to a 1-1 tie on Dec. 2. The team played Arroyo of San Lorenzo on Wednesday, Jan. 21, after press time. The team’s next contest is against Valley Christian on Monday, Jan. 26 on the Don Grant Field. The Jet’s women’s team is 2-7 on the year and 1-5 in league play.
